Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Misplaced Pages, as you did to Dolph Ziggler, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Like I said: removing sourced information based on your own subjective opinion that the source is wrong is not happening. Stop or you will be blocked. NiciVampireHeart 15:51, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

I have stated reasons for my removal of sourced information in the talk page of the article. I think they are valid enough. Feel free to contact a higher authority on this matter. Starship.paint (talk) 08:10, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Reply to help request

I took a look at the article, and I have to admit that I'm not sure I see the problem. From what I gather, you don't want the Jumping Russian Legsweep referred to as the Zig-Zag. Nici also doesn't want the Jumping Russian Legsweep referred to as the Zig-Zag. The article does not refer to the Jumping Russian Legsweep as the Zig-Zag. I'm not sure that I have anything to add there.

I'm probably not the best one to ask. While I enjoy working on professional wrestling articles from the mid-1990s, I don't watch wrestling, and I have never seen Dolph Ziggler. Perhaps the WT:PW page, if you still have a concern? I'll freely admit that I have known Nici for a while and trust her judgment, as she has done extensive work on the article, has raised it to GA status along with all of the other Spirit Squad articles, has a strong understanding of Misplaced Pages policies, is somewhat of an expert in this field, and avoids conflict when possible. Sorry I can't be of more help. GaryColemanFan (talk) 18:12, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Edit help

Starship, please provide edit summaries for your edits, and consider using "preview", so you don't have to make a lot of small edits that clog up the article history. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 14:52, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

ok, thanks for the heads-up :) Starship.paint (talk) 01:32, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

No problem. It's a very well done article.TheFBH (talk) 06:04, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Zig Zag conflict

FYI, I've tried to make that change to the Zig Zag a long time ago, but there are some editors who will just revert every change they disagree with, as if they own the article. Ultimately, I found it was just too much of an uphill battle, because I don't have an established reputation/network on Misplaced Pages and, due to the three revert rule, the math works out such that the pre-existing edit will remain. To be fair, I think the other editors mean well, but they're just following the rules of Misplaced Pages too closely to the point where they're doing more harm than good. I just think it's a little ridiculous that they refuse to think for themselves and look at the evidence, while hold stubbornly to this thought while there is no source that states there are two or more distinct moves. Anyway, I wish you good luck in pursuing these changes and I'll try to do what I can to help. -WikiFew (talk) 04:51, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. I actually provided video evidence - to no avail. Good to see someone who has flexibility on here. I'd be counting on your support if this issue rises again. Starship.paint (talk) 11:32, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Ryder

My apologies, I was correcting the moves that had been taken away, and that was caught in the cross fire. It's re-instated now. Tony2Times (talk) 13:57, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

On the basis that he's not interacted with Kofi since and didn't appear for another month with any relation to that storyline, I find just listing an appearance on Raw unnotable. Also I'm not keen on noting face turns and heel turns, especially when it's too early to tell. Do you remember CM Punk's "face turn" when he was on commentary before he took control of Nexus and various other times people haven't turned, they've just done something for the sake of doing something. The only reason I deem his appearance on NXT noteable is because he interacted with a former rookie, otherwise I wouldn't have left it there. Tony2Times (talk) 10:02, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

The point of listing the match with Kofi isn't actually the interaction with Kofi, but that it took 6 months for Ryder to appear on Raw in 2011. I don't remember CM Punk's turn, he's always been heel to me. But I'm pretty sure Ryder's face now. Facing McIntyre, teaming with Santino, fighting Cole on Raw - those are the signs that he's a face. Also if you would look at http://www.pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/WWE_News_3/article_51524.shtml Ryder joined other faces Bourne and Santino in saving Cena in post-Raw events, that itself should show that he's face already.; I still don't see how his appearance on NXT is notable, he just beat his old rookie and left. RE: Roaring elbow

Thanks a lot for your message. Actually, using "technical" names is way better than using publicized or alternative names. Also, in the description you added for the "roaring elbow", you didn't make it clear whether it's "back elbow" or "elbow smash" - nevertheless, both variation exist; and the discus elbow smash variation is the most noticeable and most used rather than the back elbow. Anyhow, I added both variations, and under the "discus elbow smash", I added the alternative name which is the "roaring elbow", just to have a diplomatic solution.

Also, except for maybe the G.T.S., the Gory Bomb, Shining Wizard, German suplex etc., those are their real technical names - but they were alternatively named to make their "more detailed" technical names even easier. For example, the belly-to-belly suplex is a long name, so they were shortened to German suplex etc. - also, not mentioning that there are other variations of the belly-to-belly suplex (for example, the leg hook belly-to-belly and much more). The Shining Wizard (or the shining wizard) is described as a "step-up knee smash/enzuigiri/dropkick" to a kneeling opponent. So what do you think, will the technical name and heading posted in the Misplaced Pages page be "step-up knee smash to a kneeling opponent"? The innovater (The Great Muta) renamed the technical name itself (not other wrestlers who might use the shining wizard in a another name) as Shining Wizard - so if he names the shining wizard "X", then it will be described as "shining wizard", not "step-up knee ".

I really like your point of view of the moves naming, and I added both variations and their alternative maneuvers beneath.

EDIT: I think that the professional wrestling attacks' page, the roaring elbow heading used to be there and was deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francis Marks (talkcontribs) 14:25, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks again, and you are free to see my page or talk. Added/Edited by Francis Marks 14:20, 18 August 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francis Marks (talkcontribs)

You totally changed the purpose of the talk; anyhow, there are a lot of dead links in many pages due link-changing. Also, I never change a heading's title except if I was the one who added it. Also, I think there's an issue with Misplaced Pages in which the section I edit ends up being removed after I've edited it. If you can help us changing any links from #Roaring elbow to #Discus elbow smash, then you would help a lot; and remember not to change the shown name, only the link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francis Marks (talkcontribs) 11:59, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

yes, I'll do that. Starship.paint (talk) 12:25, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

To answer your question. I really have no idea because I wasn't the first to create those pages. It was already updated changed and so forth. Question

Why does Wade Barrett's article says end of days, the same as The Corre, but Barretts theme is by somebody else? --ChristianandJericho (talk) 11:14, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Barrett's version is a remix of the original, Jim Johnston remixed it. Starship.paint (talk) 13:25, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

You stopped The Corre from being deleted, now you can work on renaming the article -ChristianandJericho (talk) 09:00, 5 September 2011 (UTC) Right, I'll get to that. Starship.paint (talk) 09:17, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Big Show and Kane

Concerning your contribution, Big Show and Kane, a page move cannot be done by simply copying and pasting the contents of a page into a new location, as such a process does not transfer the page's edit history and therefore violates the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license. As a violation of the page move process, Big Show and Kane needs to be temporarily deleted under the speedy deletion criteria so that the page you intended to move may be properly moved in a way that will preserve its edit history. Big Show and Kane has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If not, please refrain from editing either the page you intended to move or Big Show and Kane until the latter has been deleted according to Misplaced Pages's speedy criterion G6 (non-controversial housekeeping).

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Starship.paint (talk) 09:36, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

The Working Man's Barnstar
good job man you worked very hard on The Corre article ChristianandJericho (talk) 13:20, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much, ChristianandJericho! I will continue to contribute. Perhaps you could help me proofread my new article, JeriShow? Starship.paint (talk) 13:54, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Already did, a few tips
  • You do not need to put 2010 or 2011 to the end of a ppv, just make it redirect there (see other articles)
  • Expect an AfD really soon
  • Remember, World Wrestling Entertainment is a FORMER name now, however, it was used during JeriShow's reign so use it on that article but link it to WWE.

Also I'm sure you'll be happy to know that I am withdrawing my AfD for Air Boom --ChristianandJericho (talk) 13:58, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

You can change your user page from "in process of saving from deletion" to "saved from deleteion" lol --ChristianandJericho (talk) 14:09, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Removed most of the 2009s, but left two in so I don't explicitly have to state the date. Why should I expect an AfD? and where should "World Wrestling Entertainment" come in? You can edit that in. Starship.paint (talk) 04:03, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

File:Air Boom 1.JPG

Hi. Can you make it clear where the original two images came from, please? This is required in order to check their Flickr copyright status. Looking at your other uploads, I'm sure they're fine, but it would make it much easier for other editors. Thanks. Black Kite (t) (c) 20:13, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Done. Sorry about not doing that earlier Starship.paint (talk) 00:13, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ryder Bourne.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Ryder Bourne.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. File source problem with File:Air Boom 1.JPG

Thank you for uploading File:Air Boom 1.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Misplaced Pages. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Denniss (talk) 16:34, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

I don't consider PWInsider a reliable source, so can't help there. The other site I've never heard of, so I got no info on its history, writers, etc to even begin to make an argument that would change a reviewer's mind.--WillC 13:27, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

I just need a reviewer, so I was wondering if you could help me find one. Let me do the arguing. Starship.paint (talk)

I know that Pwinsider is considered a reliable source, though I'm not sure about profightdb just yet. I haven't come across it before, but presuming its use is just limited to results of matches, there shouldn't be any issues. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 18:21, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. And you're right, I asked him a few days ago when the MitB pic went down to WP:COPYVIO. Original uploader had full rights and didn't approve of downloading, so assumed that was a no go. This worked out better anyway with the high-quality photo w/Funk Man. And the bulldog is AWESOME.
His name's Jerry and he's a super-cool guy who was happy to release the photos for public use, provided he's given proper credit. As you say there's a lot on there that are quite good but I didn't want to impose on a first-time request. He probably wouldn't object if you or I wanted to pursue further. Papacha (talk) 09:03, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

WWE at Fort Bragg

Thanks once again. I believed I had given proper credit to Sgt. Kuhn on the Dolph pic but was unaware there was a seperate boiler for photos taken by those in service. Good of you to update.

Ever follow-up with the pic request? I hadn't had the time to drop a line on flickr recently. Papacha (talk) 08:37, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Your license was actually wrong, the flickr photo in question would not have been able to be used on Misplaced Pages if it wasn't taken by a U.S. servicewoman... stupid "=" sign... I didn't follow up on the pic request... I don't even have a flickr :( Also you should upload photos on Misplaced Pages Commons... you know how to do that? Starship.paint (talk) 08:44, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
Neither do I really; all you need is a Yahoo, Google, or Facebook ID to sign in. I'm more of a scavenger than a hunter-gatherer when it comes to pictures myself. ^_^ Can still ask if you'd like if there are any you've got your heart set on.
And yeah, I'm just being lazy on the Commons front I guess. Should make the extra effort if I'm gonna do things right. Papacha (talk) 08:54, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, you should do it on Commons, I might get around to requesting the Flickr pics later, there's still a free set on Flickr waiting for me so I'll do that first. That and I'm currently adding pics from the last set (Sgt Kuhn) to the articles. Before I request the pictures though, I need to look through the set in more detail... HEY!

Good to see a name I don't assume is an insta-vandal around. Doing well? Editors seem to be dropping like flies around here, so you editing even sparingly's a true boon.

I nit-pick therefore I am though, so I'd prefer to revert to the older Punk edit if it's cool; MOS for images prefers a subject's face to (ugh) face the text when possible. Didn't want to revert without giving a heads-up, plus gave me a chance to say hi. Papacha (talk) 02:13, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

HELLO Papacha, so nice of you to drop by. I'm doing well serving in my country's army, but it's kinda like a weekday thing so I'm lucky I can still edit a little on weekends. Imma explain why I changed the order of the photos... simply because Punk's involvement with Johnny Ace came later with the later part of the text, so I thought it would fit that the picture with Ace should be below the picture without Ace. What do you think? Starship.paint (talk) 03:31, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
Yeah I can see where you're going, just looks wayward to me with the image looking away. But as you said, there's the content issue to think about too. Could've adjusted to the right were it not for the Nexus pic, so healthy bonings every which way round. Won't press it too hard though. Take care out there. Papacha (talk) 22:31, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
Alright then, cool that the matter is settled. Nice of you to slip in an Orton reference, heh. Damn there's so much to do on Wiki and so little time. i did ask the user you suggested lets wait what he says ;) maybe he explains us how this ga stuff works, as the buy rates and the aftermath are considered i guess we have to wait for the butyrate till wwe announces it with second quartls report and the storyline connection ends at over the limit i guess.--Nakurio (talk) 13:09, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

  • on my talk page you can read the answer of wrestlinglover he said we need to rewrite it because we fail on several guidelines on the article--Nakurio (talk) 08:41, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
  • no problem i do what i can, you win´t alone and for use you don´t have to do everything on your own, I am working on the article right now and i guess wrestling lover will at least gee us more advice form time to time, have a nice weekend--Nakurio (talk) 08:58, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Just tippin' my hat~

I was waiting in the wings to add to AJ Lee once that bio from the Jersey site went up but you beat me to it. Cheers for being on your toes, quick on the draw, and whatever other idiom I can offer. Papacha (talk) 03:20, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Heh, thanks! Just doing my job for little AJ :) Just happened to see the article on some wrestling forum where I lurk at. About Extreme Rules, I'm trying to get the article to GA status. I've written almost all of it actually, damn. But some voices in my head say I've gone too detailed on the match reports... Starship.paint (talk) 03:27, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Tinkered a bit per your request. Picked nits mostly, looks promising! Papacha (talk) 20:20, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
Good luck furthering the GA! I really want to do more to help out but heavy/precise editing's difficult right now and honestly I'd do more harm than good, as oppossed to the usual harm I always do. Papacha (talk) 23:10, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Just custodial stuff over the past month, been having to edit off a tablet. Keeping my head above water and rolling from vandalism, haven't done any proper editing in an age. Gonna have to catch up on a lot, fallen behind on news. Though I have heard you earned your first GA, so congratulations! I see the whole lot of nothing I contributed the last few weeks wasn't for nothing. Awesome. Papacha (talk) 09:57, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

RE: NXT Articles

I like your idea. It will be so perfect. I think the title of the merged NXT/History of NXT as WWE NXT (2010) and the add a section on NXT Wrestling as WWE NXT (2012). What do you think? Keith Okamoto (talk) 00:26, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article Extreme Rules (2012) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. Wrestling sources

Hey, I noticed you've been removing sources like Lordsofpain, etc.. from wresling articles for being unreliable. Can I ask why they're unreliable? And I've come across a lot of articles with references like lordsofpain.

International Airstrike

If WWE.com acknowledge the name it is "unofficial" just like the Million Dollar Championship. They call the name unofficial but divulge the tag team under this name on the official twitter for example. WWEJobber (talk) 01:23, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Your source: http://www.wwe.com/superstars/justingabriel Are you ok now? WWEJobber (talk) 09:24, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that is what I was looking for. Unfortunately, while there's nothing wrong with that link, it's weird that http://www.wwe.com/superstars/tysonkidd says IA is unofficial. The conflict is definitely headscratching. How about listing both? "IA (Kidd and Gabriel)" at least until we get wwe.com to agree with itself. Starship.paint (talk) 10:48, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
What about in place of International Airstrike we put "International Airstrike"? WWEJobber (talk) 00:32, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, but I tought that the Wikiproject had a consensus because I saw how other users delete the individual inflo, like that. Anyway, I think that the Tag Team Article must talk about the tag team, no de singles career. If the people want to know about the Kane single finishing moves, they can go to the Kane article. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 12:29, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

yeah man. Sorry, but i'm very angry. I have uploaded a lot of photos to commons. But yesterday I saw that also nominated a lot of images of the wwe championship. Also, im from spain, so I edit in spanish wikipedia. The english wikipedia can use copyright photos in some cases, but if they delete the photos from commons, the other wikis are screw. Also, i have a good english level, but i can't understand complicated discussion, so I tried to follow the discussion, but I only read "delete, delete, delete, wp:blahblah, delete"-HHH Pedrigree (talk) 15:34, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your feedback!

Hey! Thanks for your feedback on my page, it's much appreciated. I'm new to this and the last thing I want to do is post inaccurate edits that make more work for someone else. I'll definitely take your comments on board and hopefully they'll make my future edits more accurate and reliable. Thank you! Rockyrock632 (talk) 14:36, 13 January (UTC)

Ok, I've finished Mason Ryan's moves. It's taken me AGES but I think it's accurate and I believe that I've done it right this time (hopefully!). It's definitely better than the last edit, that's for sure, haha! Rockyrock632 (talk) 00:11, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

Well, Mason Ryan's moves section looks great now, definitely a job well done! I can see the differences between our edits and I see what you've done and now I know for next time. Took me a minute, but I get what <rf name=qwe/> is. It looks like it makes things a lot easier and I'm sure it'll save a lot of time, so thanks for showing me that. And the naming was confusing, but I honestly had no clue what to call each reference, so that just made the most sense to me at the time. T1 and IN1 are duly noted for future edits! Rockyrock632 (talk) 18:45, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Haha, thank you. I look forward to it too! Rockyrock632 (talk) 15:45, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Well, thanks! I guess I'm starting to get the hang of this now. I saw the back body drop listed as a signature on Stone Cold's page, and Miz now appears to be using it every match so I thought it was perhaps relevant. I won't add turnbuckle thrusts anymore, it's just that I saw them on Brock Lesnar's page therefore also thought it was appropriate to add them. As for the IEDDT, I thought the same as you. I've not heard it used on TV before, except I thought I would add it under Orton's moves because I saw it in the caption of one of his photos. I'll go take it off now as it's probably not accurate then. And the name 'body surfing' was coined in a WWE Magazine interview with Christian a while back. I can remember what he said, but I can't find an online reference for it, so I'm not sure what to do about that one. Rockyrock632 (talk) 14:05, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Right, that's a good idea. I'll have a look for the magazine article later! Rockyrock632 (talk) 14:38, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Hey! I agree with you about the titles, I didn't change them on Miz's page, I just reworded some of week-by-week stuff and put commas in the right place. Wasn't me! Rockyrock632 (talk) 16:41, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

My Response.

Thought I wanted to work with everyone, I just can't. I would end up bbeing bossed around and restricted on editing. I don't use sources and rely on my mind to guess what it is and I had enough of User:Ryulong bossing me around when I did a edit on a page. Tell this to him that's the reason I don't want to work with anyone or trust anybody. titles

Hi, Starship. I think that you know nothing, but durning your hiatus, I proposed to put the same titles table in all championships articles, because when you see a titl from Japan, from Puerto Rico, from NWA 50... you'll see that all of them have different tables. Do you want to help me? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 17:09, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi. I wrote a discussion in the talk page. here I imagine that the discussion is in the archive. We have a Style guide for titles, but a lot of championships have different tables. List of WWE Champions, WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Championship, IWA Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship, NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship, List of early world heavyweight champions in professional wrestling, AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship, Open the Dream Gate Championship, GHC Openweight Hardcore Championship I want to put the same table. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 17:03, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
Hi. Yes, I think that we have to use the tbale of the style guide. I'll change some articles, but I can't do it with all the championships. Thanks --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 14:08, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

How can you say that Wrestling Inc and Cageside Seats are unreliable resources?

Diva-Dirt

Diva-Dirt needs to be a reliable source its the only wrestling news site to give the full length women's matches unlike Wrestleview and PWInsider. --Miss X-Factor (talk) 18:29, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Japanese capitalization

This one right here.Ribbon Salminen (talk) 11:57, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I can't help but notice you're one of several editors who agrees that articles like CIMA (wrestler) should be spelled with the proper all-caps spelling regardless of what a guideline and a dogmatic self-appointed hall monitor of an editor like Ribbon Salminen says.
Perhaps you'd like to back me up? The CIMA article is full of people reverting to the allcaps spelling with only Ribbon and a now-indefinitely blocked editor disagreeing.
I'm a former wikipedia editor who left and scrambled his password because of nitwits like Ribbon, just fyi. 198.200.181.205 (talk) 16:03, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Regarding jargon in section headers

Thanks for the heads up. I did indeed miss the original discussion due to being on an 18-month wikibreak at the time. I've reopened the discussion at WP:PW and given my thoughts. I'm pretty sure that the use of insider terms is contrary to the Manual Of Style but maybe that's just my interpretation. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹ 15:11, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

RE: Cesaro single leg swing

Hiya, I completely understand if you want to remove it. I'm sure I've seen him do it at least 3 different times but I've scoured YouTube and match reports for the past year and I can't for the life of me find any more examples. It does seem he's not used it in the last six months so feel free to remove it totally if you want. Duffs101 (talk) 03:44, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Yeah no probs, just a shame because it is such a unique move, but I'm guessing there's some reason he's stopped using it. And yes I've been looking forward to Regal Vs Cesaro for a while now, I'm sure it wont disappoint. Cheers and happy holidays to you too. Duffs101 (talk) 04:14, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Greetings

I just wanted to stop by and say hi. I see you have been working on a few PPVs and trying to get them to GA. I like to see that. In recent years people have been falling out of the project and expansion has dropped off gigantically. I saw you have nominated one for GA and if I have the time I may review it (mainly due to the fact I am about to nominate several articles I was close to finishing before getting sidetracked by college). Just thought I'd stop by and say keep up the good work. I've been here a while and if you need help I'm here.--WillC 07:19, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

I've gotten two to FA before Lockdown (2008) and Turning Point (2008 wrestling). The reviewers are really hard on the prose and understanding of the topic. Becomes a giant hassle.--WillC 08:40, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, it usually takes a couple of nominations to get an article promoted. One of my main goals is to get all of the 2008 TNA PPVs to FA. I've only gotten 2 but nominated 3 of them. About to nominate another one soon.--WillC 09:03, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
I plan to review it come the first of January so that I can submit it to the WP:WikiCup. The main issues I see are placement of things are wrong. Some things aren't notable. Goes too in-depth. etc. These are basic things I did when I started writing long ago with Lockdown and later Sacrifice, especially Sacrifice. I'm glad I went back and fixed both of those, they are much better now after I learned a few things. Removal and repair of these things will make it easier on you in the future as well make the articles better. Here are some examples of what to expect when writing them. After so many PPVs, I can just pop them out now in a day or two: Unbreakable and Bound for Glory. Main thing to remember is less is more. Everything may seem notable, but alot of it is not. Think big, go small in the long run. Lockdown when I first wrote it pretty much included every single thing and was bigger than any WrestleMania article. I look at Money in the Bank and I see a great effort. Awesome job I say. It just needs a bit of a clean up. Alot of the old editors on here are gone it seems that could help you see some of the mistakes. Now that I'm back for a while working on my old projects, I'll try to help you out. Someone needs to be doing the WWE PPVs. Several people stopped it seems. Last time I was active I was the only one expanding any PPVs, so it is nice to see someone trying.--WillC 05:55, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Various things. One being the results table. I know why you placed it where it is but the table is meant to be a quick reference only, outside of the actual article and should be at the bottom. That way it doesn't interfere with the flow of the article as the "Event" section does the exact same job. As for the indepth, the Divas Title match as I recall is not notable and pretty much anything connected to it should be removed. I like that you used a variety of sources, but the more sources the harder it is to get by FA. FA is hard on sources and I've always had difficulty with WrestleView during the FAC process. I find WrestleView just as reliable as PW Torch, Figure Four, etc but it is hard to get most of them to believe it as a reliable source. I finally turned them around with Turning Point. Now that WV has updated its site to give more info on their articles, it may be easier. Alot of things to really cover right now. One being the history of the money in the bank match. It is to the point that FAC will find it content forking and you'll get several opposes quickly due to this I suspect. I looked at Extreme Rules 2012 and that article looks correct style-wise. I'd look into morphing Money in the Bank to resemble that. I'd move the disclaimer to the storylines section. I see you have adapted the format I created with "Production, Background, and Storylines". The disclaimer is better suited for the storylines section as that is truly where it is needed. Hold off on the Money in the Bank rules until the event section. That is where it is needed most. If you truly want a production section, look into when the event was announced, when the theme was announced, when the poster was released, etc. Your background section is more the idea behind the PPV which is nice, but that section is missing alot of information. Take a look at the BFG background section for a better idea. The current storylines section is more of a chronology of what happened. Start with the main event, that is the main point to the whole event. The predominate is the money in the bank matches, weird I know considering the name. Mentioned when they were announced, any qualifying matches, and when participants were announced. Any attacks on other opponents is truly week by week and is only meant to add hype to the match. That isn't necessary information to the encyclopedia as a whole. That is moreso trivia than anything else. The minor storylines are better suited for the bio articles or other ppvs. Stick to the main idea. The event is a play-by-play in its current state. It isn't meant to be a play-by-play according to the MoS and previous consensus through FAC, GAN, WP:PW, etc. State the match and rules, participants, duration of encounter, any special spot (Take the BFG Monster's Ball match or the Unbreakable main event), and the finish. If anything happened afterwards like a debut, an attack which led to something later, a return, or a major announcement then note it as well (again BFG after Monster's Ball). Once the event is cut down it gives the straight-forward idea. When mentioning moves, give an idea of what is happening: "Joe slammed Styles into the mat with his signature Muscle Buster maneuver". That way we can use the names without dealing with the jargon guideline. I've had that issue with FAC. The reviewers have no idea what is going on and things don't make sense. Show what is fiction and what isn't. Take Henry vs Big Show. I don't remember Big Show actually having a legit injury from the event but the section makes it sound like he actually sustained one. That is having the article In universe. Clarify that to show it was a scripted injury. Simple to say that "Henry broke Big Show's ankle in the storyline with a steel chair after the bout". I'll go further in detail during the review on Tuesday night so that I can help get this to FA material.--WillC 07:34, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

I hope you take constructive criticism well, it will really help later on. When I first started it annoyed the hell out of me but with time I found it very very useful. I hope you won't let any of my comments get to you or anything, I'm honestly trying to help ya out. I did the same things you have done when I first started. It is all trial and error.--WillC 07:38, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I've been doing this for say close to 6 years now. I can spot issues right off the bat without reading the article that much. Just hold off on any changes until the review. I will clarify all of my comments then. I'll go down the article and separate them by sections so that you know exactly what I mean, why, and any suggests to fix them. When I review an article I take time. That is why I only review rarely. It takes very long for me in most cases.--WillC 08:44, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Money in the Bank GA

Alright, I'm about half-way through the article so far. I've noticed several issues. I hope you don't take offense to any of my comments. So far you've done pretty much exactly like I did when I started writing events. I have left some comments and if you question any of my proposed comments just ask and I'll explain my reasoning. The main issue I have seen is the style of writing. Like many before you've written the article in more of an advertisement form than an encyclopedic form. Stick to the main issue, don't get lost in the fluff. All that is really needed is the reason behind the match, when it was announced, and any stipulations. The rest is just fluff.--WillC 03:19, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

We have a long way to go before it is GA level but I don't plan to fail the article. Just get the fixes done and I'll read it again later. It needs alot of work but you have really done everything I did with Lockdown (2008) when I started. Certainly in the event sections. Really in-depth there and I can tell why.--WillC 10:36, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Take your time, I'm in no rush. I'll pass or fail the article either when the stuff is all taken care of and I feel it meets the criteria or the changes can't be made any time soon. You've got plenty of time. I'll consult you before I ever do anything. I'll look at the article once you have made your edits.--WillC 11:33, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Yeah I saw. It still needs more work. I'll take a look later on. The Main event is still way too long. It still resembles a play-by-play.--WillC 07:01, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
There are still issues that need attending too. Cuts that still need to be made.--WillC 10:49, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
It is the main event. It is extremely too long. It has too many spots. The only thing it needs is the match, the finish, and the McMahon stuff. Otherwise, the rest if just trivia for fans who want a play-by-play of the match.--WillC 10:13, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

I have redone the GA review for Money in the Bank (2011). Take a look and fix the problems and I'll most likely pass it if everything is fixed.--WillC 09:59, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

RE: Hello

Thank you. I think you are the first person to actually try and help me edit and keep these as entries, rather than just criticize. I do appreciate it. I can get resources that match what you've suggested for the later Seasons, but in the earlier ones (2002), the media did not exist for independent wrestling. I was able to find very few things, but it's limited and many sources that existed have gone the way of the internet and are no longer available. I really don't want to leave out those Seasons for lack of sources, since they do build on the later ones. Do you have any suggestions on how to handle that? Thanks again. --BabsChikara (talk) 12:55, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick note. I'm replacing all the 411 references as recommended. I'm having no issue with it. The question is - how many references to do I need to prove this Misplaced Pages worthy? Is there a round about number or something that is looked for? (Totally honest question.) --BabsChikara (talk) 02:19, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Sorry, I worked the weekend and I haven't enough time to read the consensus. Well, I think like Hulk, but maybe the best idea is to accept consensus. If both parts agree, fine. We use proper terms and no-wrestling readers will understand them. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 12:59, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
Well, I want to use heel and face, not hero and villain, because it feels silly. But if we put Face (description) it's fine. Also, I imagine we use the description once in the article, so the rest of the article, we can write properly. Also, I think the career is more than a list of matches. I don't know why, but classic wrestlers, like Hogan, Hart or Taker, are better than articles like Batista, Del Rio or Sheamus. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 13:27, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

WP:PW

I ask that you return to WT:PW, I have proposed a new compromise for the parties that I think will benefit both sides and not violate jargon. I would appreciate your input on the matter.--WillC 12:16, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

RE: Viscera

Sorry, I wasn't trying to claim that his real name was more recognisable than his ring name (I know him only as "Viscera" from the Attitude-era). I assumed that the article was titled that way to avoid edit-wars over which ring name to use anyway, and that the debates over WP:COMMONNAME issues would have been settled there. My only issue was that your first edit to his listing was too long imo; but including his ring-names is a good idea. --Connelly90 10:43, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

WP:CANVASS

Should be read by you. It appears that you may have inadvertently been pushing the boundaries of canvassing editors considering your sub-RfC at Talk:Justin Bieber. I commend you to not do so in future. Collect (talk) 14:26, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!
