I was wondering why you restored and then deleted File:Railroad, Vaxjo, Transversal.jpg. You didn't respond to or close the OTRS ticket so it remains unresolved. --ThaddeusB (talk) 02:11, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- I honestly have no idea why I did that. -- John Reaves 18:13, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Writing Misplaced Pages Articles: The Basics and Beyond (#WIKISOO) enrollment
Appologies. I was just registering for the WIKISOO course, and in the enrollment page, there was (Enter your enrollment token. In order to enroll for this course, you need a token provided by your instructor or one of the volunteers for your course.). So, I looked for the names of the instructors, and got your name. Can you please advise on that? Thanks a lot. HWteam (talk) 06:03, 10 February 2014 (UTC)HWteam 06:03, 10 February 2014 (UTC)06:02:00 AM, 10 February 2014
- @HWteam: Sorry, there must have a mistake somewhere along the way because I’m not involved in that project. If you’ll link me to the page where you saw my name, I’ll point you in the direction. -- John Reaves 14:52, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- @John Reaves:I followed the same flow and found that your name was just below the word (mail) in this page (https://en.wikipedia.org/User_talk:Peteforsyth). I mistakenly thought this was the link I should post to. I do apologize again for disturbance. Thanks a lot.

If you threaten people for coming to ANI because others are initiating edit wars, then you encourage them to participate in the edit war. I was under the impression that's what ANI was intended to prevent. — kwami (talk) 07:18, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Kwamikagami: I didn't encourage anyone to edit war or threaten them, don't be ridiculous. -- John Reaves 17:46, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi, you blocked the above user and forgot to leave a block notice. I placed {{uw-vblock|time=31 hours}} on their talk for you. --Regards, MrScorch6200 (talk · contribs) 19:23, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't actually, I generally don't notice petty vandals. MediaWiki:Blockedtext gives all of the pertinent information, and they have to view that that as opposed to a talk page notice. -- John Reaves 21:31, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
Correction of Wiki submission
Thank you John,
I think corrected my mistakes from before. Below is that new company page that I created. I just wanted to make sure that it is under the restrictions of Misplaced Pages

Sockpuppet vandals and block evasion
Greetings and saluations! An I.P. vandal (whom you may recall, 50.159.28.153) who was blocked for vandalism and being uncivil and disruptive, has, in evading the block, returned under a new address (108.169.6.36) as well as an old one (24.44.203.79). He has already gotten very busy, disruptively reverting edits, insulting other editors, and randomly nominating images for deletion. I respectfully ask, in the vein of WP:DUCK that you please open an investigation into this evasive vandal or raise the issue on WP:ANI. Please don't tarry, for time is of the essence. With the best of regards, Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 08:28, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Illegitimate Barrister: I have blocked or re-blocked those accounts. However, he appears to back on the original account 86.13.182.103 (talk · contribs) now. A quick review reveals no problematic edits, so I'm inclined to let him be for now. -- John Reaves 18:33, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. I didn't even know he had this many different sockpuppet accounts. I've been looking through some of his old edits, and man, is he one rude and uncivil guy, calling other editors "assholes" and "asswipes" in edit summaries and such and telling to go "fuck" themselves. I'm surprised he's lasted this long here. Anyway, best of regards, Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 19:12, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
Ticket:2013121310012353
This ticket has come up in conversation at User talk:Andrewduty#File permission problem with File:JDonCapraMD.jpg. Since you're the agent who grabbed it initially, would you care to resend the reply so we can get the image straightened out? VernoWhitney (talk) 16:05, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- @VernoWhitney: Sorry about the delay. The issue is that the corporation is claiming ownership while simultaneously not providing an author. I'll send another e-mail though. -- John Reaves 16:23, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- No worries about the delay. Thanks for following up on this one. VernoWhitney (talk) 22:16, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Links to avoid?
Hi! I would like to inquire about this. I may be wrong, but it does not seem to me that linking to the rock and roll hall of fame for musicians that are in the hall of fame fits our definition of links to avoid.
In particular, I would call your attention to this, this and this as evidence that a consensus that such links are acceptable. (I couldn't figure out how the search for just external links, but I sampled the result and a fair number are external links).
Also note that in several cases the link existed before 63.92.225.25 "added" it and still exists after your revert. --Guy Macon (talk) 04:32, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
- Per WP:LINKSTOAVOID.
1. Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a featured article.
- I should have checked more thoroughly before reverting, I didn't realize they were editing any existing links. -- John Reaves 14:47, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
- I disagree with you as to whether links to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for musicians who are in the RRHoF provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a featured article. Is there any way I can get you to reconsider, or should I post an RfC so we can see what the community consensus on this issue is? --Guy Macon (talk) 16:35, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Guy Macon: Sorry for the delay, my computer is on its last leg. What exactly do you find unique about the information on the RRHoF pages? It seems to me that they contain simple biographical information and little unique information. Could the links be better incorporated as references? -- John Reaves 15:01, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Take a look at http://rockhall.com/inductees/the-ventures/ The RaRHoF page has six audio files and two videos, none of which we can insert into The Ventures because they are non-free content. --Guy Macon (talk) 16:27, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Oh my, Guy. I just realized that, in my haste, I hadn’t seen that those bios expand into full blown articles. The bottom half or so of the screen on my computer at home alternates between being black and displaying a bizarre test pattern thus obscuring the expansion button. I’ll be reverting shortly, sorry for the confusion. -- John Reaves 17:19, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

Protected redirect for Abby Martin (redux)
Aloha. Could you please take a look at the discussion over at Draft talk:Abby Martin? We would like to move the draft into article space but the redirect is still protected. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 20:35, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Viriditas: Unprotected. I have to go, but I'm sure someone at WP:RM can do the move. -- John Reaves 21:51, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've filed the appropriate request. Viriditas (talk) 23:42, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- At least one editor improperly copypasted the article into the redirect sans page history. I've reverted back to the redirect, and I'm tempted to ask you to reapply protection. We really need this redirect target deleted so we can move the draft into the article namespace with the page history intact (as much as possible). Viriditas (talk) 01:46, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Viriditas: Based on the discussion, it looks like a unilateral move back to article space would be inappropriate at this juncture. -- John Reaves 14:25, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. Do you think this should have gone to DRV? Viriditas (talk) 20:31, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- I think it should now that the concern has been expressed. -- John Reaves 14:20, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Belated thanks
I know this is late but I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your participation at my RfA. I was very inspired by the many that supported me and it’s that feeling of friendship and camaraderie that keeps me coming back to the project. So, thank you for your support and for your continued sense of fairness and compassion in all areas of WP. I look forward to the opportunity to work together in the days to come. You flagged my edit, but you should flag the person who flagged my edit
I added to a criticism on "the Alex Jones Show". I cited only fact, without any personal remarks. That organization has people who troll pages like wikipedia, in order to falsely flag any criticism of them. Please check it for yourself. A 2 minute google search will confirm what I'm saying there. I'll go back and put the links to references, but I guarantee it will be falsely flagged again. If you delete the account of the person falsely flagging, they will just create another account, and do it again. That's their thing, they are psychopaths who live to waste peoples' time and spread sensationalized fear. Maybe it would be better just to delete that page, although they'll just create another. Waste of time. Figure out how to stop people like this, and you'll have the total solution for making[REDACTED] fool-proof. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1warriornation (talk • contribs) 21:09, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Disruptive Edits to Article: Mansoor Ijaz
Dear Mr Reaves, There has been a wholesale butchering of my article this early morning. It started with an anonymous IP address deleting an entire section of the article, which I reverted, and then a whole host of editors piling on and threatening to block me etc.
As you are well aware, because you semi-protected my article in the first place, the hateful and biased or agenda-based edits of the article continue unabated after the lifting of the protection period.
I understand you may not be seeing these messages very often, but it seems to me that the manner in which the article has been edited now makes it not only factually incomplete and inaccurate, but represents a bias of someone to try and write me out of the Formula One business -- and that is factually and simply not true.
I seek mediation and relief to have the article restored to the status quo ante. Some of the edit ideas are good, but the time to do such edits is when the deal either completes or fails, which is also imminent -- we hope to complete. Some of the minor edits don't matter that much, but the reality is that a lot of data taken out was done to try and reduce the impact of my life and the people with whom I have worked. This is a systematic effort to write my life down so those who don't believe my work was of value have their day in the sun.
That is not what Misplaced Pages is supposed to be about. The article was factual, well-referenced and from high quality sources. Why then was this allowed to do such a wholesale debauchery of the article.
Please respond and help me to restore the article's completeness and accuracy as I am threatened with bans of this and that if I do so myself, even though I believe that is fully justified.
Sincerely, Mansoor Ijaz (talk) 09:32, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
