CCI end in sight

I'm working on the Jansport87 CCI. Out of 800 plus entries, I think we are down to 12 remaining. Obviously, you've done far more than I have, this isn't a request for you to pitch in, just the opposite - I'd like you to have the "honor" of knocking off the last one (plus, I don't know how they are closed.) I'll continue to work on this on occasion today, but would like to let you close it.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:14, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Done!!! That one was moderately painful, due to the extremely high incidence of problems. I only did a handful, which leaves me in awe of your contributions. Thanks.--S Philbrick(Talk) 19:31, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry

Greetings. I noticed that you recently blocked User:Obelixobelix for being a vandalism only account. Two IPs have been edit-warring and firing off blatant personal attacks at Durga Vahini. Rather than go to ANI or open an SPI, I thought it may be faster to come to you, so you may block them as ducks, if you see fit. They are certainly quacking pretty loudly; a glance at the article history should show that. Regards, Vanamonde93 (talk) 05:11, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Les Horvath

Updated DYK queryOn 13 June 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Les Horvath, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Ohio State retired Les Horvath's jersey number 22 in 2001, six years after his death? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Les Horvath. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

The Misplaced Pages Library: New Account Coordinators Needed

Hi Books & Bytes recipients: The Misplaced Pages Library has been expanding rapidly and we need some help! We currently have 10 signups for free account access open and several more in the works... In order to help with those signups, distribute access codes, and manage accounts we'll need 2-3 more Account Coordinators.

It takes about an hour to get up and running and then only takes a couple hours per week, flexible depending upon your schedule and routine. If you're interested in helping out, please drop a note in the next week at my talk page or shoot me an email at: jorlowitz@gmail.com. Thanks and cheers, Jake Ocaasi via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:41, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

I don't believe Les Hammond meets the criteria for notability seeWP:NPOL He was a mayor but being mayor is not inherently "notable" according to Wikipedias criteria. I don't beleive he meets the criteria for general notability WP:GNG "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject." WikiCup 2014 June newsletter

After an extremely close race, Round 3 is over. 244 points secured a place in Round 4, which is comparable to previous years- 321 was required in 2013, while 243 points were needed in 2012. Pool C's Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions) was the round's highest scorer, mostly due to a 32 featured pictures, including both scans and photographs. Also from Pool C, Scotland Casliber (submissions) finished second overall, claiming three featured articles, including the high-importance Grus (constellation). Third place was Pool B's , whose contributions included featured articles Russian battleship Poltava (1894) and Russian battleship Peresvet. Pool C saw the highest number of participants advance, with six out of eight making it to the next round.

The round saw this year's first featured portal, with Republic of Rose Island Sven Manguard (submissions) taking Portal:Literature to featured status. The round also saw the first good topic points, thanks to Florida 12george1 (submissions) and the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season. This means that all content types have been claimed this year. Other contributions of note this round include a featured topic on Maya Angelou's autobiographies from Idaho Figureskatingfan (submissions), a good article on the noted Czech footballer Tomáš Rosický from Bartošovice v Orlických horách Cloudz679 (submissions) and a now-featured video game screenshot, freely released due to the efforts of Republic of Rose Island Sven Manguard (submissions).

The judges would like to remind participants to update submission pages promptly. This means that content can be checked, and allows those following the competition (including those participating) to keep track of scores effectively. This round has seen discussion about various aspects of the WikiCup's rules and procedures. Those interested in the competition can be assured that formal discussions about how next year's competition will work will be opened shortly, and all are welcome to voice their views then. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Misplaced Pages talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Fedora (operating system)

Hi Wizardman. The article was nominated for a GA by an anon, which is against the policies. I see that you delisted the nomination once, but another editor apparently reverted you (https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Talk:Fedora_%28operating_system%29&action=history). Aren't IP disallowed from nominating articles? Ryoga (talk) 04:47, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

FAC comments

Hi Wizardman. I know you are not active as you used to be, but if you have time, can you take a look at Megadeth, my FA candidate? The nomination page is here, so please post your comment/vote whether you consider the article to be worthy promoted. Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you soon.--Retrohead (talk) 21:38, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Me again. Sorry for the disturbance, but can you tell me whether you intend to review the prose, or should I invite someone else? Thanks in advance.--Retrohead (talk) 17:17, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

William G. Kline

Hey, Wizardman. I'm hoping you can recall your source for this edit: . Several years ago, I spent a lot of time trying to track down the birth and death dates for several of the Florida Gators coaches from the early 1900s, with only limited success. Any suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 00:51, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me of the Ebenezer Avery House GAN; I had completely forgotten about both it, and all the terrific clerking you do with GANs. Thanks a million! Go Phightins! 19:05, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
