A businessman promises to bring new business to the community of ]. However not all the business he intends on bringing to the area are entirely legal. Also Virgil Tibbs refuses to let go of a grudge he held against the man, who had cheated him out of a scholarship many years ago. The son of a close friend of Bill Gillespie soon finds himself in serious danger when he steals drugs from this businessman's mansion.
