Door guards (also known as hinge guards and anti-finger trapping devices) protect fingers in door hinges. Door guards do this by covering the gap that is created by opening doors by covering the hinges of doors with a plastic strip.

The purpose of door guards is to reduce the number of finger trapping accidents in doors, as doors pose an acute risk when opening and closing at the hinge side (see ]). Opening and closing doors pose a risk to children, pets and adults however the majority of accidents happen to children.

There are two types of door guards: front and rear door guards.

==Rear door guards==
Rear door guards have been created, to eliminate the danger that is caused at the rear of doors when doors open and close.
