Do I have to reference graduating class listings from colleges, city hall marriage licenses, drivers license with address to verify who I am and where I live? I don't do interviews anymore, I am in contact with fans on Facebook. Why won't you let me update my information? I caught a vandal!!!!!!!!!!!?!

Hey, In my efforts and adventures in[REDACTED] I discovered that a user called Smileypapaya is repeatedly vandalising the page - Ford model T. I've just got back online and will have a look (I don't recall seeing much constructive from anons on that range, but maybe I've missed some). Note that this is a soft block; the spammer has been targeting the Marciano talk page too, for quite some time; and this range has a history of abuse. General notes to DoRD. CU scan is not supposed to be used for common IP rangeblocks. There is a tool showing range contribs that you can activate in preferences, but it is clumsy as it doesn't sort contribs by date. This one was much better, and I use it every time I rangeblock (your "this time" comment goes astray). This tool was great when it was maintained by various users at the Toolsever, but upon its recent migration to wmflabs it was restricted in scanning depth, to reduce the server load. I've talked to HelloAnnyong about this, xe said xe'll have a look. Ping'em if you are interested, and you should be. As to 172.56.0.0/18, it is extremely rare to have this and that complaints after my block. Fishy. I have to disagree with you. I'm not sure why you say that CU shouldn't be used for rangeblocks - busy ranges such as this should almost always be checked for collateral damage before blindly blocking them. It is simple: when admins issue regular IP rangeblocks they don't usually need to know about accounts on this range - the blocks either affect only IPs (softblock as in this case), or prevent account creation in the future (anonblock). Even when it works as designed, the range contribution tool is very limited, particularly when dealing with wide, busy ranges, and it is useless for determining appropriate rangeblock length. The tool may be sufficient for a narrow, lightly-trafficked range, but when you get to busy /18s and /16s, it is decidedly not sufficient. Please excuse me if my comments overlap with DoRD, I read this before he responded. I also disagree that CU is not to be used for collateral checks. Of course if we are talking about a /24 of a semi-dynamic US ISP then it really isn't required, but when we jump to the MAN /16 or /17 level, then a check is recommended especially if it's a mobile network because you will be affecting thousands of customers. The abuse needs to be proportional to the number of good edits, or higher. India, is a completely different story also, which I won't cover on WP:BEANS in this location. Far to often do I see 5-6 requests made at ACC in which are from the same /16 or /17, and I CU it and either get "Too many results to display anything, please narrow the range" or I can't make heads or tails of what the original block target is, risking letting them back in anyway. Also determining how big a range actually is as easy as grabbing DomainTools Whois and looking for the shortest range, comparing it with the CU results, and creating the narrowest block possible while hitting most of the abuse. Blocking administrators should really look at this information before they hit block, otherwise they could be targeting another ISP in another city also. I know we can't attain perfection on that, but I like to try. I went and actually read the thread and came back to make one additional comment. If you look in the log for that range, you see I modified the block to say <!-- ACC ignore -->. That means the range was too big to block, and we could tell what was the original target, or can't tell the difference between one person or another. DoRD and DeltaQuad, I think you misunderstand my comment and use CU scan to get range contributions from IPs. This is adequate for SPI cases or hard rangeblocks, but not for IP contributions, because those can be extracted from publicly available logs with a proper script, without and time and length limitations of CU logs (sorry if I'm telling the obvious, but ..). To imagine such a script, look here . When this script was hosted at the Toolserver, results were paginated by sets of 50, and their number was enough for many months long evaluation. (I don't recall any limit there. Then the Toolserver died, and the results got limited to 30. We've lost functionality in many, many Toolserver tools, but this can be recovered, I believe.) To speak about the current IP address we are dealing with, since 10 months ago, 153 requests have come in to WP:ACC. Also the range can't even be CU'd there are so many contributions to it. It means within the normal CU expiry time (won't state here) or less 5000 edits or log entries have been made from that range. Your edits that you are trying to block maybe cover 5-10% of that. So we are currently blocking 4500 legitimate edits, saying they need to create an account first. Furhtermore, the range is a mobile network, which would be the hardest to create a new account. Most people will give up before even starting. I think it's inappropriate for us to block such a large range for such a long time. If we absolutely need to stop the vandalism because it is taking a boat load of reverts, if all other options are exhausted, then ok for a 24-72 hour period to let things cool down. We can also do multiple smaller rangeblocks if needed. For example if you look at 172.56.32.0/22, there is someone who was adding spam (at least at glance) to talk pages. If we CU that /22, we find that yes, a lot of the logged out edits are the target of such blocks, but we also have several hundred user accounts, indicating a busy range. I personally would only block such a range for a short period of time. I just think there are more options than just blocking this whole /18, like maybe requesting an edit filter related to this range. If you would like some assistance in formulating a new rangeblock, I'd be happy to assist, but right now I don't exactly understand what your targeting. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 19:43, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Because of the multiple people on a range, we tend to look for the identifying useragent that was targeted for the block. Sometimes that is impossible, or not a 100% match, so we can't figure out for sure if the person requesting the account is in fact the blocked user to complete certainty. This is why we AGF. The more someone socks, the harder it is for them to get through ACC. Could you restate your "evaluate the potentially productive activity from their number" question? Hi-- I'm Michael Berube, and I've been having trouble-- here and elsewhere-- with someone who seems to have developed one of those unhealthy internet obsessions. To gauge by the talk page for the entry on me, it has something to do with Rebecca Schuman.

I don't write material for my[REDACTED] page-- I didn't know it existed for its first few years-- but because it is now part of my public profile, I try to keep it professional, so from time to time I check in to ward off vandalism. The recent changes about Regis High School, the war in Iraq, and my essay on the GRE seem to me inappropriate, to varying degrees. Much of the new material on my high school seems fine, if someone is interested in my childhood (I don't know how many wiki entries on professors mention their high schools), but one user's insistence on using the term "feeder school," with a footnote to something not available online, seems excessive. The material on Iraq seems to have come from someone (again, to go by the talk page) who cannot understand how someone could have opposed that war while being critical of others on the left, and at one point it was simply inaccurate. And the paragraph on my essay on the GRE just seems silly-- really, of the 200-odd essays I have written, that trifle gets a paragraph to itself?

Hi MS! I looked at the linked pages and it sounds like this filter is supposed to disallow spambots, as determined by the edit summary? Based on User:Mr.Z-bot/filters.js the user is reported directly to AIV when this filter is tripped. What is expected of a patrolling admin? Should we block on site? I was never involved with this filter, better ask those who were. During the past years this filter was on-and-off for immediate AIV reporting, and though I sometimes reacted on it (e.g., when those guys were reposting same sort of adverts from different accounts), I was rarely sure who was spambot and who was not. Shall I ask over at meta:User:Mathonius/Reports/"ENDVALUE" spam (I only see you in the filter history)? The history of the meta page makes me think this anti-spam bot effort may have been abandoned. My concern is no one is using the filter and it's just taxing the system. Meanwhile a lot of us over at AIV don't know what to do with the automated reports, especially since the tripped edits often appear to be made in good-faith — MusikAnimal 22:32, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Edit explanation

I removed those sentences from the Gorbachev article for three reasons: 1. Most importantly, because the Heritage Foundation (both the source and the subject) is a propaganda outlet below the standards of Misplaced Pages. 2. Because they were poorly written and had little to do with the rest of the paragraph. 3. Because they seemed to be self-promotion: they were much more focused on talking about Michael Johns than Mikhail Gorbachev.

Removal of My Edit

On August 8, I edited the section on Cai Guo-Qiang's art to add the following: "In 2014, Cai's exhibition of "Moving Ghost Towns" featuring 2 iPads mounted on the backs of each of three African Sulcata desert tortoises for the opening of the Aspen Art Museum created an international "animal abuse" stir and a Change.org petition calling on the museum to cancel the exhibit and free the tortoises garnered over 3,000 signatures."

Edit of the words "Long bow" to "Selfbow"!

The change is because it is the true discriptor of the statement in question. Any bow, long or short that is made from a single piece of wood is technicly a "Self bow". Only a straight bow more than 5' long from tip to tip and with equil length of top and lower limbs, is a traditional "long bow". However some long bows are not self bows and some self bows are not long bows. The original statement that I corrected was wrong. That is why I fixed it. In antiquity, "Long bows" were also "self bows", but that is not true today. Also, some antique self bows over five feet long were not longbows at the time because they were recurved, or reflexed, not straight. There are very many different descriptors to name many different types of bows, however, in the cotext of that paragraph in that article, only the use of the words "Self bow" would be correct. If you could reply to me directly, I would like it much.

Hello. I have noticed your revert of 66.61.92.158 (talk · contribs) at Mount Tambora, and he has promptly returned with a number of changes. I have looked at the user's edit history and it is staggering the number of changes this user has made. The majority appear to be correct and all appear to be in good faith. The problem is with the significant percentage that are in error. And it appears there are a lot of them, as evidenced by the numerous bracket bot warnings and other notifications on his talk page. Going through all of this user's edits seems so daunting I don't want to even begin to try. This appears to be case of an editor working way too fast and too many times making reckless and careless mistakes. I don't want to drag this to ANI but I would rather first seek some advice from you or someone on this. My understanding is that bots periodically fix such links. I'm not sure that the Wayback Machine is the only function used today (or will be the only one used in the future). My understanding of WP:BADLINK is that, as it says, "Except for URLs in the External links section that have not been used to support any article content, do not delete a URL solely because the URL does not work any longer.... A dead, unarchived source URL may still be useful. Such a link indicates that information was (probably) verifiable in the past, and the link might provide another user with greater resources or expertise with enough information to find the reference. It could also return from the dead. With a dead link, it is possible to determine if it has been cited elsewhere, or to contact the person originally responsible for the source. For example, one could contact the Yale Computer Science department if http://www.cs.yale.edu/~EliYale/Defense-in-Depth-PhD-thesis.pdf were dead. Place {{dead link}} after the dead URL and just before the </ref> tag if applicable, leaving the original link intact. Placing {{dead link}} auto-categorizes the article into Articles with dead external links project category, and into specific monthly date range category based on |date= parameter. This is correct in general, but in practice, random-string urls that are not archived in Wayback Machine and have no identifiers are usually irrecoverable. I'm no expert. But I thought the direction given was clearly to not remove the dead link. Leaving it without any ref. One consequence of that is that it leaves it without an indication -- as indicated above in what I quoted -- that at some point in time the information was probably verifiable by a ref. Editors -- including me -- routinely delete (or tag and then delete) wholly unreferenced material. Which is the state, for example, the last para in the above was left in, when you deleted the dead ref. I would not necessarily do so if, instead, the dead ref were left. That's certainly true, as far as guarantees go. But I was quoting the actual language in WP:BADLINK (which speaks to probability, and not to guarantees). WP:BADLINK is unequivocal that these dead links should not be deleted, in what I quoted above. And my concern listed directly above remains. If you think BADLINK is wrong-headed, perhaps you want to seek a change? I'm not sure how deadlinks can be deleted today without violating the express terms of BADLINK. Pakistan Army Promotion Procedures have certain standards that remain apolitical popular to general view regarding political promotions. There is a procedure followed in a highly professional manner.

• Promotion from Lt. Col./Col. to Col./Brig.

A promotion Board consisting of all operational two star commanders excluding those on staff appointments and Corps Commanders (3 star) and all Principal Staff Officers (PSO) (3 Stars) conduct the final ratification board under COAS where all promotions are debated before COAS gives the final order. Before that 3 Promotion Boards are conducted in Zone A, B, C under Commander Northern Command (Zone B). Commander Southern Command (Zone C) and one of any PSO may that be QMG, IGT&A or any of 11 PSO.

• Promotion from Brig. to Maj. Gen

COAS with all 3 stars recommend officers from all arms and are considered for appointment to two star officers. No 2 star reside this promotion board.

• Promotion from Maj. Gen. to Lt. Gen.

Only the COAS on personal prerogative have the sole right to recommend officers to 3 star promotion as they are key PSO's to COAS not to Prime-ministers or President as mentioned in your article regarding promotion of Gen. Musharraf. COAS recommends the name and President has to accept them as he is not aware of the military's professional standards. Among st all the 2 star officers DGMO and DGMI is the most coveted prestigious appointment that is usually considered to make it to Lt. Gen. under normal circumstances only if not thrown to lower medical category as in case of Maj. Gen. Naushad Kiyani. A DGMO and DGMI doesn't have to ask any political agent for his promotion as mentioned in your article under any circumstances as it can effect the career drastically as in case on Maj. Gen. (r) Inayat Ullah Khan Khattak. A DGMO will never risk that. It is obnoxious and the worst way of defaming the military promotion procedure if it tend to give perception based on somebody who has no idea of Military Cmnd and Structure additionally giving references from a book that is altogether just an un-trustworthy reference. I therefore could only request to make that necessary change and to delete that remark altogether.

• Promotion from lt. Gen. to Gen.

Yes this is Political appointment but with consultation of COAS who recommends three names. Even this to some extent has been a pure military's prerogative as COAS personally refers 1 to President for Promotion. Image galleries are needed to make the Tea page more readable and more suitable for display on non-PCs.

I have done a lot of overall maintenance with respect to tea related articles, but the article only recently has developed so many images that the need for their proper organization has become necessary.

Can you go in and fix the gallery problem for Tea? Your undoing it to an older version just returns the article to a state of image 'higgledy-piggledy' that does not help its readability or visual clarity.

Style guides

Style guides originate from print, and for web page use a lot of the print rules have to be abandoned for visual or readability reasons. The Wiki style guides are at best recommendations (of reasonable best practices) ... the best rule is that the framework and layout of an article should be similar to related articles. Ultimately, the page layout should match the contents (but this clearly is open to interpretation).

-- Having pages and that are readable on PDAs to Workstations is not easy.
-- If you code HTML for your own webpages, this is an ongoing problem.

Wherever possible, the text should not be clumped like paper text aka huge paragraphs (and there is a lot of articles with this problem). Important articles should not have any substantial or substantive visual clutter due to images or tables to the extent that it is possible to remove it.

possible incorrect data

I've left the citation for the quote that keeps being taken out. I can't see what I saw in CU logs back in March. I see now that the unblock request comes from the same IPs and the same kind of PC as used by 1abacada (not a unique PC configuration, but still ..). Unregistered user 86.172.40.147's edits

Hi Material. I am sorry to bother you, but i did notice your reversion of unregistered user 86.172.40.147's edits to a couple of pages. I know that this user is a friend of AldezD and a proponent of WP:NOTSTATS. The two of us are having a big dispute over what is a valid source. I was on the Through the Keyhole page doing a minor edit and noticed that 86 was using British Comedy Guide as a source. In my edit history on Misplaced Pages for British programmes, other well known editors have refrained from this website as it is fan updated and prefer to use TV listing sites like Radio Times or info from the channel's Press Office. I tried to make an edit using more valid sources, but 86 rejected both of them saying that Radio Times was not reliable and ITV Press was a not an effective source for Misplaced Pages. however, in the past 7 years that I have been editing and in talking with other editors, I have always had no problems with other editors when using Radio times or Press Office info as sources, until now. When I tried to talk to him on his talk page, he just cleared my comments and ignored me.

I complained to 86's friend AldezD, who suggested I write a post on the Through the Keyhole talk page, which I did. I don't know if anybody will see it though. However minutes after I started, 86 started a sweeping edit flurry, erasing episode guides, and valid sources and the like and has kept on doing so for a few days now. I don't know if you have seen his edit history. (http://en.wikipedia.org/Special:Contributions/86.172.40.147) The thing is I don't mind WP:NOTSTATS and everything when I first heard about it last year. i knew it entailed Game show statistics and shows of that nature, but as you can see, he is erasing information and sources from Documentaries and travel shows as well citing WP:NOTSTATS and WP:OVERKILL. What types of programmes do those Wiki rules entail? I've been editing here for the past 7 years and I've never had a problem of this nature since I've started. I like to update info for British panel shows and talk shows. I've used ITV Press office or Radio Times as a source previously with no problems. Now with 86 around, I'm really starting to feel a bit threatened with what I edit. Will it be accepted any more? Will this user get angry with me. i don't know what's what and may decide to leave Misplaced Pages altogether even if I have had a good relationship with editors in the past. would you be able to help me or give me advice, as with the speed that 86 is editing willy nilly, I don't know which of his edits are truthful or just vandalism. A vandal with a dynamic IP address?

Hello.

We seem to have a vandalism problem in Talk:Windows Essentials. A non-registered user with a dynamic IP address within 88.130.*.* is deleting other user's messages. (I don't have a particularly strong feeling against removing an old bot's maintenance message but removing a reply by a human is an entirely different thing.) I remember four such IPs:

• 88.130.116.224
• 88.130.81.158
• 88.130.114.6 (Didn't edit Talk:Windows Essentials but made two edits that I can only describe as WP:POINTy.)
• 88.130.73.7

This looks like an IP user who is very well familiar with our procedures. Not every recreational editor know what "copyvio" or "revdel" is.

Is there anything that can be done?

Due to a number of (new in the last couple years) to this class of compounds, and some odd redirects (methylammonium chloride -> methyamine) I believe it would be worthwhile to document the following materials:

• Methylammonium iodide
• Methylammonium chloride
• Methylammonium bromide

Because they're increasingly mentioned in the literature on solar cells. There's limited information out there about melting points &c, but the compounds are all "known" to pubchem, chemspider, SMILES, etc. Likewise the old literature (mostly crystallographic) is of interest to the Xray crystallographers, and the new data is interesting to the solar cell crowd. Rather than add three pages (there is no substantial mention of the fluoride) I thought a category page ala acyl halide and hydrogen halide might be worthwhile, so I took a stab at it in my sandbox:

• Methylammonium halide

It would be good to add something on these compounds, but, I don't like one little bit: three infoboxed side by side is not a good idea for narrow screens, and arranging them vertically would make the page too long (given the meager amount of text). The horizontal alignment of sections will break depending on the amount of text in each infobox subsection. Also, the fixed column width either creates a lot of whitespace on wide screens, or moves column(s) down (into vertical layout) on narrow screens. All of that is absolutely right. I looked (hard) at four alternatives:

1. Modifying Template:Chembox and its children to take multiple values, or small divs within the cells. Nothing looked right, and I couldn't get the (new, additional) column widths to grow and collapse properly.
2. Use a custom wikitable reproduce the functionality of the three tiers of templates (Chembox, Chembox identifiers, Chembox CASNo) since they're not reuseable in their current state (they assume row and column breaks are in specific places) This would also annoy people who wanted functionality I hadn't cloned, reducing accessibility.
3. Run the three infoboxes vertically down the right hand side. This had two other disadvantages: First it made the page look silly, incredibly tall and having no text. Second it was easy to lose yourself vertically and not know if you were looking at the data (links, values) for the chloride, bromide, or iodide.
4. The one I went with: Three "brothers" in sections at the top.

The last one was clearly the easiest to undertand and the best looking on the most number of page aspect ratios, so I went with that. If you can find a better way, fix it! I'm not proud! Riventree (talk) 08:41, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

This was confirmed at Misplaced Pages:Sockpuppet investigations/PapaJeckloy, but it's taking a while for someone to get there and block Gelacost Mouse. I'm worried that the guy's going to log on, notice that he's been discovered, and do more damage—back when the PapaJeckloy account was first at SPI, the last 24 hours after CheckUser and before block were not pretty.

Hi Materialscientist, I know I'm not supposed to move this on your talk page, so I'll have to deal with the consequences. However, I did not know how else you would see this because the editor stuck it in the middle of an existing section from August without a adding a new title, so it's quite possible it could have been missed. That being said, is the edit adding the names actually constructive? It has been reverted by several editors, but keeps being re-added. As far as I can tell, these are just a bunch of non-notable names, and who knows, maybe they are related to the subject but that wouldn't make them notable people. What should be done?

Three Kings album

Hello, Materialscientist, this is Shallowharold here. I'm having a bit of trouble with a vandal here. One of the songwriters on the TGT album Three Kings keeps adding his name to one of the songs that numerous sources clearly do not indicate that he is a writer. He's been doing this for about a year- both under his own username as well as under an IP address. I think their request to place that disclaimer violates WP:UNDUE, i.e. Misplaced Pages policies may override their advice. Many JSTOR articles can also be accessed via other databases (like SORA) or at the original publisher's site (e.g. doi:10.1676/0043-5643(2004)116 for JSTOR 4164705), even if the wikiarticle writer accessed them via JSTOR subscription or offer. We may not put undue weight on JSTOR access, unless it is free for everyone. That, apparently, is what the "via JSTOR" link leads to. He suggests editors use the "registration required" rather than "subscription required" parameter, which takes the reader to the appropriate page. Just FYI! IP sock vandals

There have been a series IP socks making inappropriate edits to the User and User talk pages of blocked socks PapaJeckloy and Fangirlbot. I did a couple of reversions, but I’m not willing to get myself into 3RR trouble. The IPs that weren’t blocked last time I looked were 222.239.74.152 and 77.234.43.180; DoRD earlier range-blocked 77.234.40.150 (77.234.40.0/24), but as you can see they got around that. (A minute before being blocked, 77.234.40.150 placed a claim on User talk:Kapamilyaliker that said user was a PapaJeckloy sock. Seems odd to me, but I suppose it needs checking; Kapamilyaliker did edit Philippines-related articles, and seems to have been consistently causing trouble.) Thanks for anything you can do. Olympic medals for swimmers in the preliminaries

Hey, Materialscientist. I just discovered this edit of yours, and I wanted to give you a head's up. Notwithstanding the fact Sports-Reference.com and several other sports statistics databases show medals for Olympic swimmers who only swam in the preliminary heats, and not the event finals, for the winning relay teams, the preliminary heat swimmers were not eligible for medals under the FINA and Olympic rules until the 1984 Summer Olympics. There were a lot of American and Australian 5th and 6th men on those relay teams prior to 1984 who were every bit as good as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th men, but did not get a medal because they did not swim in the event finals. We really need to let the Sports-Reference folks know -- it's a glaring mechanical error in an otherwise outstanding Olympic sports database. I'm guessing that when they were doing the programming for their site, someone just made an assumption and applied the post-1984 rules to all of the swimmers who were listed as members of the pre-1984 relay teams that finished in the top three in the event finals. I believe similar rules existed for the track & field relay teams before 1984, too. In any event, it's nice to know that someone else is tending to these swimmer bios! Policium

I've been researching presently unused names for chemical elements, and having found a mention of 'policium' in a footnote of the page "List of chemical element name etymologies", I checked for a redirect, only to find that a page for "Policium" had been deleted.

Certainly a page is not warranted -- reportedly the name was facetiously suggested for element 110 (darmstadtium) "because 110 is the emergency telephone number for the German police." This may be too frivolous a basis for a redirect (which I don't know how to institute anyway). According to Sam Kean in The Disappearing Spoon (2010), the name "grovesium" (with accompanying symbol "Grr") was a similar tongue-in-cheek suggestion for element 61, promethium. There is no mention of this at all on Misplaced Pages, nor is there a redirect.

There are, however, some redirects associated with element names that were seriously proposed or suggested, but not adopted -- Athenium, Centurium, Danubium, Odinium, Spectrium, Tyrium -- even though the names don't appear in the articles. I found these six (and others, for which there are also redirects) in the list of symbols for chemical elements.

Maybe the anecdote about "policium" isn't even true. But if by chance someone had created a page or a redirect with that connection in mind, now you know perhaps why. And the value of including the footnote that contains the anecdote may also be in question...

Hilda Runciman

Hi, I notice that you have made a recent edit to this page, adding the image Hilda Runciman 1927.jpg that you recently uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. I think this image being used on[REDACTED] will cause problems as it is not a free image. This image was created in 1927 which means that it is not out of copyright and therefore should not have been uploaded to Commons. I would suggest that you delete it. Arguably it could still be used in[REDACTED] if it were to be uploaded to[REDACTED] with a fair use rationale. But it would only be able to be used on this page. You also uploaded another image Hilda Runciman 1920s.jpg, which appears on this page. Hello, I'm RDivya. I'm new to Misplaced Pages and all excited about contributing to it. I'm interested in Bollywood Movies, Beauty Pageants, Sports, Wild life and much more, so I've started editing the articles of my interest. You seem to have removed several of the edits I have made. I would like to know the specific reason for the removal, and also the link you replaced on Miss World 2014 is in another language, and the one i added as a reference was in English which I think has a wider user group. Apart from that, I added a reference to the Movie- Spark as there were no references provided. Hi Materialscientist, I noticed that yesterday you blocked User:Cozimeow for edits he was making on Donald Simpson Bell. Well, just a day later, a brand new editor appears adding non-notable names in the same pattern that the blocked user was doing., and adding his statement in the same place. What are the chances that another new editor would conduct the same original research, come up with the same non-notable distant relative and try to get it included in Misplaced Pages? To me, it looks like an attempt to get around the block you posted yesterday. I reverted the editor, and an IP that I think is trying to egg on the editor by messing around with his edit. Hello! I'm confused regading this . My edit was fairly cosmetic and rudimentary, merely explaining prion diseases. For some reason, links to perfectly good sources were deleted. Perhaps a bug? Could you have a look at two alleged "physics" articles which have recently appeared: Special proton and Special Protons? They both appear to be nonsense and are completely unsourced, so I think they should just be removed. JohnInDC and ClueBot NG had mistakenly believed that the edits of a disruptive Malaysian IP-hopper on this article were vandalism because this editor had been disruptively editing the articles regarding the GeForce 400 through 800M series while making helpful edits to the article about the 900 series. This editor's edits on the articles regarding the 400 through 800M series harmed them because multiple sources have stated that the GPUs in these series cannot achieve full Direct3D 12 like http://techreport.com/news/26210/directx-12-will-also-add-new-features-for-next-gen-gpus and http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-geforce-gtx-970-pictured-glory/ , but the IP-hopper kept editing those articles stating that they will support the full Direct3D 12 when they really will support a subset of Direct3D 12 that is limited to feature level 11_0 plus some feature level 11_1 abilities that could be accessed with capability bits which tell the program which features are supported beyond the basic feature level 11_0. However, the 900 series supports the full Direct3D 12 set. I have reported the false positive reverts to ClueBot NG's false positive form and to JohnInDC. The editor seems to be an Nvidia fanboy/fangirl who thinks that Nvidia can do no wrong and wrote that Nvidia is the only truly reliable source regarding Nvidia products. However, I personally learned that this was not the case when my laptop's G86 GPU failed like what had been described in the "bumpgate" scandal which Charlie Demerjian uncovered. The failed GPU took the laptop's motherboard with it because it was soldered to the motherboard. (Personally, I have also been burned by AMD as well when its poor drivers for my Radeon HD 6970 kept crashing if I tried to do simple office and web browsing tasks shortly after booting my computer, forcing me to replace my Radeon with a GeForce. Hi Materialscientist. I saw your block of User:Tomkwill and I checked out his contributions. It looks like he was a bit confused about the article and the changes/blanking listed the filter log are just him trying to correct his mistakes. I will respectfully disagree with your assertions of ramblings; and at least I am able to form complete sentences. The only repeated edits to possibly be considered of offense were in regards to a single topic, the 2003 World Series, therefore not random. Those edits were in talk pages. That is a less formal place for editing, correct? To the topic of removals, only two such removals occurred within no more than few minutes of posting, likely only seconds, again in talk pages. To the best of my knowledge, I had only removed the very thing I had posted. As for reasonable attempts to explain myself, I had in all edits, referenced the Steve Bartman incident as found on this site.

You have welcomed questions with your edits on my talk page in section "September 2014." Thanks for the invite. I assume the invitation is still open to edit here, the same invitation which led me to edit here in the first place. I might understand a temporary block until "rush hour" subsides. I spent many hours before "rush hour" had subsided trying to get my arguments together to request unblocking. You may like to glance at the section "Assuming good faith" in my talk page. Have you any explanation as to why I received no reasonable discussion prior to being indefinitely blocked? You might have given me a reminder about edit summaries before now.

Also when I attempted to correct my oversight of not signing my last edit, I had been informed I was indefinitely blocked, citing vandalism.
