Basic information

Malusia22 (talk · contribs · block log · arb · SPI suspected)
Comprehensive edits analysis
Malusia22 is known for creating and editing elaborately-crafted hoax pages pertaining to organised crime in the Philippines.

Targeted areas, pages, themes

Malusia would typically target pages related to Philippine fraternities such as the Alpha Kappa Rho, and in most cases organised crime pages i.e. Asiong Salonga.

Habitual behavior

  • Creates articles under different names, which purport a supposed "sindikato" organisation founded by mobster Asiong Salonga in 1948. As stated by several users, namely WayKurat and Mr. Gerbear, the organisation does not exist per se. Groups whom the sock master associate with "Sindikato" are not affiliated or work with each other, and according to Blake's father, are actually rival factions competing for territory or money.
  • Sources cited merely mention "sindikato" as a transliteration of the word "syndicate", i.e. "ilang miyembro ng sindikato na nagtutulak ng droga..." would translate as "members of a narcotics syndicate...", and does not refer to it as a proper noun, nor do they mention about the group's supposed history or any core info to back it up as a single unified group, or at least a loose criminal coalition.
  • Furthermore, any attempts by other users to have his hoaxes listed for deletion or CSD would be met by further sockpuppetry, as Malusia would create single-purpose accounts in an attempt to canvass votes or justify his deception.
  • User is also seen creating or editing articles related to Philippine cinema, most often entries from current and past Metro Manila Film Festivals, but may shift his/her focus on various other subjects, namely tropical cyclones.
  • User has also been spotted trying to make his articles look legitimate, i.e. "rewrite" the Sindikato article in an attempt to evade detection, though cursory inspection reveals that the page has been copied verbatim from another website.
  • Sockpuppet accounts may follow a recurring naming pattern, which could be a random, nonsensical or noisy username, and in some cases with a random number affixed to it, like Namemumbojumbo751,22,90 or Mightsmit687,952.

Cases

Other notes

  • User appears to be residing in Cebu City, based on findings from the IP ranges (49.151.xxx.xxx, 122.54.xxx.xxx, 112.210.xxx.xxx and 112.207.xxx.xxx) used for his sockpuppets.
  • On certain occasions, Malusia has resorted to outright harrassment and obscene vandalism directed at users whom he crossed paths with.
  • User creates multiple accounts and won't use them unless the sockpuppets he uses will be blocked. He uses this tactic to get around the Misplaced Pages policy in creating articles for new users.
  • He also claims that he is a member of Anonymous Philippines. From an article he created using one of his socks, he claims that this group was formed in Cebu City and has official affiliation with Anonymous. There is no direct connection from his group and the main group based from the sources he provides. (see confession here).
