Cizîrê Canton (also known as Jezira Canton, Jazira Canton, Jazeera Canton or Jazireh Canton) is one of three cantons of Rojava (Syrian Kurdistan). It was declared on 21 January 2014. Administrative center of Cizîrê Canton is the city of Qamişlo (Qamishli in Arabic). Other important cities and towns in the canton are Hesîçe (Al-Hasakah), Serêkanîye (Ras al-Ayn), Dêrika Hemko (Al-Malikiyah), Amûdê (Amuda), Dirbêsiyê (Al-Darbasiyah) and Tirbespiyê (al-Qahtaniya). Meetings of the administration are taking place in Amûde (Amuda). Prime minister of Cizîrê Canton is Akram Haso. Population of Cizîrê Canton is composed of Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Chechens and Armenians. Religions practiced in the canton are Islam, Christianity and Yazidism.
