Arab-Iran Relations
Hi Mingus. I'm thrilled someone else is putting in some effort into the Iran-Arab relations page - and yes, I totally agree that it does need a massive amount of work. At present, i'm trying to put together something on the ancient relations (there isn't very much out there) as i figure many more contributors are familiar with the 20th C. period. I'm also going to try to find a couple sources for the Bahrain section. Let me know if you need a hand with any sections... Welcome on board! :-) Databot
Hey, everybody: this page (Iran-Arab relations) still needs plenty of work... If you're interested in the subject, and have the time to kill, by all means head on over. --Mingus ah um
A Small Town in Germany
Nice start to this article, don't forget to add the {{NovelsWikiProject}} tag to the talk page when you can. Thanks. :: Kevinalewis : /(Desk) 11:22, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well... I really can't take credit for the page in question, but I have contributed a substantial amount of work to the author's page (that is, John le Carré). Regardless, I'm glad to hear that the Novels WikiProject is making good use of my bookstubs... --Mingus ah um
Re: Begin
No worries! It is an important topic which deserves discussion, and someone needs to disprove Sangil’s outrageous and biased claims intelligently as you have been trying to. Too bad though that this has deteriorated into such a tiring exchange of blows. In any case, I refuse to answer the challenge of a quotation war as it is a simplistic and populist way of discussing history, and after all, our discussion is no longer about the Irgun but rather one’s willingness to accept other opinions. I will add my final post later today. Thanks for your support! Amirig 10:17, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- I understand Amirig may not agree with my views, but I hardly think they are "outrageous and biased" -at least acknowledge they are quite well supported by the views of signifacant British individuals - unlike Segev's, err, Amirig's views.
- Regarding "Post-Zionism" - some of what you say regarding these guys may be true, but still they have little in common with the views you have attributed to them (i.e. "happily accept the existance of an Israeli state, but oppose blatantly expansionist policies"). I also think that regarding a large part of the Western World, especially in Western Europe, it can (unfortunately) hardly be said they are disagreed with. Denying Israel's right to exist has become quite a fashionable thought among the Left-Wing Liberal intellectuals. I guess it's a bit hard to see that from the States...
- Regards, and take it easy on the coffee ;-)

Kapuściński
Thanks for your great work on Kapuściński-related articles. It did not go unnoticed :) //Halibutt 11:56, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Waldheim
Dear Mingus, you see the issue of Waldheim is difficult. He was in the SA after 38 but in how far this was out of free will is difficult to tell. This membership is certainly not the substance of the allegations. The change of category is a good solution to this. Str1977 20:22, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- Str1977, I'm glad to hear that you're happy with the re-categorization of Waldheim. It took me a few tries, but I also think that we've found the best solution for this. Peace. --(Mingus ah um 20:51, 13 July 2006 (UTC))
Deir Yassin
I am sorry you must have misuderstood my intention. I deleted it from that section because I wanted to diffuse the information into sections where context was discussed, like the prisoner subpage. After I realized that it would take more time than necessary, I reinserted the info back. I will return to that section when I have more time. Guy Montag 02:58, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- My apologies for the misunderstanding; when I did not see an explanation, I assumed the worst. --(Mingus ah um 04:00, 14 July 2006 (UTC))
I should apologize too, I am still treating the article a little bit like it was my own pet project when I was rewriting it. I will put small explanations in different parts. Guy Montag 04:02, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Libya
Please feel free to evaluate the Libya article which has become a 'Featured Article Candidate' and write you support or opposition on Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates. Hopefully Libya will become only the second African country to be featured on Misplaced Pages. Thanks --User:Jaw101ie 12:28, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for replying to comments made on the Libya Candidature page regarding Libya's ties with the west & the "turning a new leaf comment". I was quite angry that POV issues were raised against the page as I tried my damn HARDEST to keep the article neutral. I'm glad that somebody else agrees of the fair usage of the term "turning a new leaf"
- Thank you again
I'll get to it as soon as I can: I've got a backlog of talk messages to get through ... thanks for notifying me. Sandy 19:10, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
