Kerry J. Sulkowicz (born 1958) is an American psychiatrist and the founder and managing principal of Boswell Group LLC, a consulting firm that advises business executives on the psychology of leadership and corporate management. Sulkowicz often provides psychiatric treatment to business executives. He has been described as "one of the most sought after psychoanalysts in the world."

Education and career

Sulkowicz earned an undergraduate degree at Harvard University and received an M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1985. He completed his residency in psychiatry at New York University in 1989 and was certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1991. Sulkowicz spent the next several years in clinical practice, but he eventually pursued a career in business consulting. In 1998 he founded Boswell Group, which as of 2014 has consultants based in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, and San Francisco and advises companies in several industries.

Other activities

Sulkowicz is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at NYU Langone Medical Center, an adviser to the Acumen Fund, Vice Chair of the board of Physicians for Human Rights, and a board member of the New York Center for Children and the Lucy Daniels Foundation. He has published several articles in scholarly journals, including Harvard Business Review, and written regular columns for BusinessWeek and Fast Company magazines. He first attracted public attention after 9/11 for volunteering as a counselor at a crisis center for Cantor Fitzgerald, a financial services firm that lost over two-thirds of its employees in the attacks. He has been cited as an expert on business psychology in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The New York Times.
