Rassina is also a small town in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, central Italy, in the Casentino valley on the left bank of the River Arno. The comune of which Rassina is the seat is called Castel Focognano, the name of a village on the slopes of the Alpe di Catenaia.
History
During World War II Rassina was home for many American soldiers how were hiding or preparing the offensive on the German army.
Many people died while fighting with the fascist soldiers.
In 1992 Rassina was completely fluddet by the river Arno.
Today Rassina is in continues expansion and is becoming one of Casentino's main industrial centers. It is home to one of Europe's most greatest calce industries.
