The Ernst & Young Tower (formally 100 Adelaide Street West) is a skyscraper under construction in Toronto, Ontario at 100 Adelaide Street West, located at the former site of the Concourse Building, which will incorporate the facade of the Concourse. The building was designed by architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox and WZMH Architects.

Original site

Further information: Concourse Building

The original site of 100 Adelaide Street West housed the Concourse Building, an a 14-story Art Deco building that opened in 1928. The building was famous for the building's mosaics, designed by Group of Seven member J.E.H. MacDonald. Oxford Properties took over the building in 1998, it released plans to replace the Concourse Building with a new tower named after the sites address, 100 Adelaide Street West.

Controversy raised about Oxford Properties decision to demolish the Concourse Building, But a 38 to 12 vote on May 10, 2000, Toronto city council gave Oxford the right to demolish the building.

New building

On June 17, 2013, Oxford released the plans for the new building. The announcement also said that the new building would be renamed from 100 Adelaide Street West, the street address of the site, to Ernst & Young Tower, the primary tenant of the new tower, which will be leasing 225,000 square feet of office space.

Ernst & Young Tower would have 900,000-square-feet, and would have 42-story's, 617 feet, a triple-A office tower. The base of the new tower will include the south and east walls of the original Concourse Building and will be integrated into the PATH as part of Oxford’s Richmond-Adelaide Centre. The anchor tenants of the building will be Ernst & Young and TMX Group. The new building is already 45% pre-leased. In addition to the new public space and renovated entrance through the Concourse Building, the tower will feature a 5,000 sq ft outdoor north terrace on the 6th floor. When complete, the building will become LEED Platinum certified. The tower is currently under construction and will be completed by 2017.
