While I'm here...why? The relist, that is. There's only 3 keeps, 2 of which rely heavily (1 solely) on a demonstrably disproven laurel of "passes PORNBIO", the refrain of the people who disagreed with PORNBIO's strengthening/tightening criteria a ways back. AfDs aren't votes, I say that line all the time myself, but is the other keep votes reliance on a smattering of news-of-the-hour sources really strong enough to counter 5 deletes + the nomination? Tarc (talk) 01:20, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Tarc: That particular relist was done in the fashion of: it never hurts to have a stronger consensus... and, relists are cheap and (usually) uncontroversial. I've had people complain about relists as well as closing discussions without relisting them again... guess when you close the majority of the old AFDs, it's impossible to make everyone happy. Oh no worry, not unhappy, just wanted to get a sense of the reason behind it. You do good work. :) Much appreciated. Tarc (talk) 02:31, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
5 days, 2 additional calls for deletion. Are we there yet? :) Tarc (talk) 22:22, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

I don't want you to think I have any personal grudge or issue

I do disagree with the way you've handled several things in this circumstance, and I'm trying to stick to discussing process and sources as opposed to entering the fray. My opinions can be taken with all the salt with which you choose to season them; I have been wrong before. Generally speaking, your admin efforts have been laudable. Please accept my respect and kind regards. BusterD (talk) 22:40, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

In retrospect, I think I overstated my case and wrote more quickly than was appropriate and said more than I actually believe. I screwed up. What I wrote was unkind and didn't assume good faith on your part. Allow me to say I'm sorry. I think while asking Spartaz for explanation, I struck closer to my correct feeling. In addition, instead of complaining about the new AFD, I should have flat out thanked you. Your previous closures notwithstanding, you gave Valoem an ethical platform upon which to remeasure consensus and even if the fresh AFD goes against inclusion, I think most of us will agree you honored Valoem's intention with a reasonable opportunity for success. Again, sorry for acting dickish. In the future I will remember to pause before saving such edits. If there's something I can do to make it right, please call on me. Hey Coffee, I accepted this user's unblock because this isn't Commons. Clearly false vandal reports are concerning, but there's currently (and unfortunately) no policy on cross-project disruption. I've stated in no uncertain terms that a a second block will be swift if he/she decides to be a problem editor here. Ed  08:32, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank you dear The ed17 for have accepted my request,i will do my best for can show at the whole community that i never will fall again into vandalism actions. Fabriziodg91 (talk) 13:02, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

F8

It seems that you just deleted a lot of files per WP:CSD#F8. The requirements for F8 includes amongst other things:

  • The image's license and source status is beyond reasonable doubt, and the license is undoubtedly accepted at Commons. To avoid deletion at Commons, please ensure the Commons page description has all of the following:
Several of the files you have deleted seem to have copyright problems and should therefore be nominated for deletion on Commons. Those files do not satisfy WP:CSD#F8.
  • All image revisions that meet the first condition have been transferred to Commons as revisions of the Commons copy and properly marked as such.
File:Pore structure representation 1.png and other files contain the statement I have made some Modification. As it seems that there are revisions of the files on Misplaced Pages to which the user hasn't made modifications, those unmodified files do not satisfy WP:CSD#F8.
  • All information on the image description page is present on the Commons image description page, including the complete upload history with links to the uploader's local user pages (the upload history is not necessary if the file's license does not require it, although it is still recommended).
Several files are missing that information and do not satisfy WP:CSD#F8 until the file information pages on Commons have been cleaned up.

Can you fix the problems with respect to these deletions? --Stefan2 (talk) 17:05, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Thirty Days of Night Records

Hello, I just noticed that the article for Thirty Days of Night Records was deleted via PROD today, and you were the deleting admin. However, this article was already nominated for (and deleted via) PROD in 2008, which the edit logs indicate. Per WP:PROD, an article previously PRODded cannot be PRODded again. Could you please restore the article when you get a chance? Thanks! Chubbles (talk) 18:07, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of Masashi Endō

Dear Coffee, I am surprised that you have deleted this article without going through a discussion first. He played major roles in Wild Zero and Sawako Decides. Please undelete this article to enable a discussion on WP:AFD as similar cases like Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/İpek Özkök passed the discussion. Inwind (talk) 06:36, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

Inwind: At the time of deletion, there was no mention of him playing major roles in the movies listed on his article. It merely stated that he played a role - which means there was no credible claim of significance made, making it eligible for speedy deletion under WP:A7. If you wish to re-create an article wherein it shows that he played major roles, and that is actually sourced, that's fine by me. But there is no reason for me to undelete the article as it stands. Coffee // have a cup // beans // 10:02, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
Done. Can we agree that articles with unsure notability should go through a deletion discussion. Inwind (talk) 11:31, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

Spirit (Sirius) and Universo Latino deletions

Hi Coffee. I doubt these would survive an AfD. Nonetheless, as they had previously been PROD-ed and contested, they are now ineligible for WP:PROD. Thanks, Paul Erik 03:23, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Fixed. Thanks for the heads up! Coffee // have a cup // beans // 18:20, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Please stop using the JW signature when performing administrative tasks such as closing AFDs. If you continue, you may be blocked for the day. Nakon 02:08, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Final warning

This page contains material that is kept because it is considered humorous. Please do not take it seriously.

Stop using Jimbo Wales' name in your signature. He is a real person with real, advanced permissions on this project, and you should know better than to usurp his name. He is also the subject of a BLP on this project, and all those signatures are going to show up on google search. Cut it out, or I will block you. And please go back and fix all the places you've used it. Risker (talk) 02:15, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

It's generally a good idea to avoid making jokes that others find disruptive. Jokes are supposed to make people happy, and if they have the opposite effect they're defeating their purpose. Maybe change your signature to "Heroin" or something? ekips39 (talk) 02:43, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Coffee, I hate to be the one bearing bad tidings, as I'm sure you did this in good and humorous faith, but you really need to look at that thread on WP:AN - a number of people have gone through the AfDs you touched, removed the NOINDEX from them and fixed the signatures. I think helping out and just showing some remorse would go a long way. I'm a humorous chap (and that's British humour so it involves irony and sarcasm) in real life, but on here if people ask serious questions they deserve serious replies. Deleted page CardFlex, Inc.

I wish to seek further clarification regarding the decision to delete the entry on CardFlex and, if necessary, appeal this decision by whatever means are available at Misplaced Pages.

I would also like to address the reasons cited for its dismissal.

1. “An article…apparently created only to document a lawsuit brought by the FTC against it and other companies. While the incident itself might be notable, the company is not.”

Why would a company want to publicize a lawsuit brought against it on one of the most popular websites online? This is certainly not the reason the company decided to create a Misplaced Pages entry. As for the company not being ‘notable’; as it states in the ‘keep’ post, it is a company with $4 billion in annual transactions, and one that is an innovator of patented automated equipment used in the merchant processing industry. If these achievements were not detailed as much as they could have been, it is only because we did not want to cross the line from objective information into marketing or promotion.

2. As far as I could find, the only Reliable Source coverage this company has received was about the fraud case - in which they were one of several companies involved and not the principal. This item even suggests that they are no longer allowed to provide card processing services, which appears to have been their main line of business. If the above statements about the company's notability could be documented by Independent Reliable Sources, I would reconsider.

First, the suggestion that CardFlex no longer provides card processing services is incorrect. As to reliable source coverage, you must understand that this is not an industry that, as a whole, garners much in the way of media attention. There are mentions of the company on pages belonging to Visa, to the BBB and to the US Patent office; there was wider media coverage of the FTC suit in a number of publications online and off.

Here is another notable source. http://www.bestprepaiddebitcards.com/cardflexs-student-prepaid-debit-card-ar e-providing-universities-and-students-with-both-financial-facility-security/

Lastly, the idea to create a CardFlex page for Misplaced Pages was inspired by the number of companies of all sizes and types already listed on the site.

We cannot understand why CardFlex is being perhaps held to a higher standard than some other companies with entries now on Misplaced Pages. These include:

http://en.wikipedia.org/Aberforth_Smaller_Companies_Trust http://en.wikipedia.org/Myers_Motors http://en.wikipedia.org/Sabertooth_Games

In the last example above, the company is now defunct, but its Misplaced Pages entry remains.

There are many other examples that could be cited of companies that are arguably less notable than CardFlex. Given that reality, it is hard not to view this rejection as a result of the FTC action, and the bias of an editor.

Please advise on how this decision may be appealed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renee360 (talkcontribs) 18:05, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

When I saw Jimbo in your signature I had to take a double take lol. Some here may not have liked it, but for a day it brought laughs to others. I think humor here helps us all take a break from the grind and stop to smell the flowers. =) Knowledgekid87 (talk) 13:27, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
