It is one of two public schools located in the town of Holland Landing, East Gwillimbury, Ontario, and serves students in Junior Kindergarten through grade 8. As of 2000 there were 525 students enrolled. As of 2008 the principal is Mr. Bill Cober. It is part of York Region District School Board.
History
Holland Landing Public School first opened in 1879 in a frame building on Peter Street. After the building was destroyed by fire on January 8, 1912, school was held in the town hall and then in a new one-room school, which had expanded to two rooms by 1930.
The school building was renovated in 1950 to add several more classrooms. During that decade several rooms in the basement were also turned into classrooms.
By the mid 1960s, the school was facing overcrowding for several reasons, including the closure of other nearby schools.
