This is a list of special episodes of NXT, which are streamed live on the WWE Network and are two hours long as opposed to the taped one hour long episodes. They are held four times a year. A future event, NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, is planned to be the first held outside of Full Sail University.

The next scheduled NXT TakeOver event will take place on August 22, 2015, in the Barclays Center of Brooklyn, New York City, New York, a day before SummerSlam would be held in the same venue. This will be the first NXT TakeOver held outside of Full Sail University; WWE promoted it as "action featuring the next generation of WWE ... on the biggest stage yet". Tickets will go on sale on July 18.
