So I just have to give you a reason why I would like it and especially why I should have it with only having about half the edits suggested. So far today when reverting vandalism, it has been hard to revert quickly when the vandal made multiple edits of vandalism in a row. I need to be able to revert them all quickly for two reasons. For one, obviously I need to revert all negative edits as quickly as possible so when the public is looking for infornmation, they dont find some BS or no child stumbles upon obscene content which I have faced twice today. Secondly the faster I could revert the new edits of vandalism, the faster I can warn them, possibly preventing another act of vandalism about to happen soon therafter or I can report them for a block if they have received enough warnings so they can get blocked faster, possibbly preventing another edit of vandalism that could potentially go unnoticed by editors for a while. Thanks, please put aside any newbie stereotypes that some seem to have and look at my request from an unbiased point of view. ] (]) 03:48, 5 August 2015 (UTC) ] (]) 03:48, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Rollback

(add requestview requests)
Please familiarize yourself with Help:Reverting and Misplaced Pages:Rollback before making a request.Misuse of the feature, even if unintentional or in good faith, may give cause for it to be removed.
To make a request, please follow the instructions below:

NOTE: It is unlikely that users with fewer than 200 mainspace edits will be granted the use of this tool. Please consider enrolling at the Misplaced Pages:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy to learn more about handling vandalism.

  1. Fill in the form below, replacing "Reason for requesting rollback rights" with a brief reason for requesting the right. Do not make any other changes. Do not sign the request – your signature will be added automatically.
    1. If you do not see the form, go back to the page, and click "add request".
  2. Please wait for your request to be approved or denied, checking back periodically so you can respond to any queries.
  3. If you would like to withdraw your request, use the {{withdrawn}} template with ::{{withdrawn}} ~~~~
Requests that do not meet the above criteria will be delayed or removed.

Sorry, please be aware that unregistered users cannot be granted permissions due to technical restrictions. Please create an account in order to request user account permissions.

Administrator notation templates
This template should always be substituted (i.e., use {{subst:Misplaced Pages:Requests for permissions/Rollback}}).

This template is used to answer requests for permissions, especially the rollback user right.

::{{subst:RFPR|option}} ~~~~

The second (unnamed) parameter is optional. It can be omitted or used to specify the admin when marking a request as already done or the number of edits when declining due to inexperience.

Not done. Please see the notice at the top of this page. This is not what Rollback is for. I maintain articles listed on the list of power metal bands, and many of these articles are often a victim of genre warriors and other unsourced edits that need reversion on occasion. Rollback rights will reduce the effort needed to maintain these articles. I also help maintain heavy metal music, which receives a high volume of unsourced modifications and often needs to be rolled back. Vortiene (talk) 16:00, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) Looking at the contribs, I don't see any warnings issued, so that is a concern here.--ABCDEFAD 17:18, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
I can definitely issue warnings/notifications for all reverts/vandalism reverts made if this is mandatory, or good practice. I typically specified information in the edit summary of reverts. However I can do both. (Incidentally, I'm sure I've left warnings/notifications on occasion on user talk pages, but may not have used a standard warning template.) I am a keen recent changes patroller to correct vandalism etc. I've been using Twinkle but see others using Huggle which seems like a faster way to correct problems, and requires rollback rights on the wiki to use. Stewwie (talk) 01:36, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

I know that I do not yet have 200 edits but I would still like to request rollback rights. My main goal on Misplaced Pages is fighting vandalism. I have been confirmed on my 1st day by the second highest wikipedian by number of edits (1,000,000+ edits) and the 1st highest administrator by number of edits according to List of Wikipedians by Number of Edits, Ser Amantio di Nicolao. So if he thinks that I am trustworthy and trying to make wikipedia a better place, I think that you should too. Also my track record in my day or two of being a Wikipedian shows that I am all about reverting vandalism. I think that so far I have proved that I am not going to use the rollback tool for evil.
