Bots
You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.
What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.
This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.
If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!
- The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.
- Or you could update your code to use the simplified continuation documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/API:Query#Continuing_queries (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&continue=>), which is much easier for clients to implement correctly.
Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.
Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Misplaced Pages:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.
Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 19:04, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
I did explain why I deleted that content.
If you looked at the discussion page you would have seen my explanation. The information is false and slanderous. It needs to be removed immediately. It's extremely shocking that you'd put this in the article. I've never seen anything this shockingly bad on Misplaced Pages before. I'll give it a little time because I'm assuming this is a mistake on someone's part, but after a while I'm going to have to report this.
"The group's website was cited in the manifesto of accused mass murderer Dylann Roof as awakening him to what he perceived as media bias in the reporting of racial murders."
You cannot do this. The "manifesto" didn't say the group's website was any sort of awakening. That's completely false and irresponsible. Whoever did this needs to be corrected. The "manifesto" cites the Trayvon Martin case as his "awakening".24.12.6.25 (talk) 01:01, 22 June 2015 (UTC) 1.Jump up ^ "The Last Rhodesian". Retrieved June 20, 2015.24.12.6.25 (talk) 18:30, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- You explained it on talk page after I restored the content, you should have discussed the change on talk page before removing the sourced content from the controversial article. Some people have replied to you on that talk page and now the wording has been changed. If you still disagree with the contents, you can discuss it on the article's talk page. Anyway, to whom would you report this? Supdiop (talk) 01:22, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
04:14:36, 28 June 2015 review of submission by Jmlibbra
My article has been rejected a couple of times for insufficient references. Can you (the reviewer) see the links to the sources I provided. Wondering if I submitted them improperly and you cannot see them.
Thanks - Joe Libbra
Jmlibbra (talk) 04:14, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Jmlibbra: It still needs more references. Products should be notable, that means they should have significant coverage in media, to have an article. From all references you added, only two will count as sources because one is dead and other are primary sources. Thank you and sorry for the late reply. Supdiop (talk) 12:15, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Regarding List of ISRO missions
This is with regard to the article List of ISRO missions which you have created. No offence but I find it quite similar to the article List of Indian satellites and this section of the ISRO article. So if you could please explain the merits of keeping the article you created, it would be helpful. Thank You. - Jayadevp13 06:14, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- I think that it looks similar but is quite different. A person who wants to see the list of missions, should be able to find a complete list in one place, not from two different articles. List of Indian satellites is only for satellites not for missions other than satellites but in this article we can include all types of missions. I think the Future projects section in ISRO article should be rewritten to include only paragraph(s) that briefly explain what ISRO is planning to do in future. A person will easily find this article because I created many redirects like ISRO missions and Space missions of India. And also a person looking for missions will search for list of missions not for list of satellites. These are the merits and I can't think of any disadvantages. Thank you (Supdiop🔹Talk🔹Contribs) 08:04, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- Ok. Then you better go ahead and make the required changes to the ISRO page. Regards and continue your good work. - Jayadevp13 03:55, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bill Maher, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page President Bush (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Explanation against the sock-puppetry investigation
Hi Supdiop,
I am new to Misplaced Pages and was figuring out how to create a page on the site. The information was added to the page from my account and some during a logged out session. There were also multiple edits in the information during a logged out session (while I was figuring out how to add reference links on the page). I understand the importance of relevancy of information on Misplaced Pages, and apologize for violating any terms and conditions, although unintendedly. Please take or advise the necessary steps to resolve the issue, if any needed. Here is the link for the investigation: https://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/SnehaSharma.One
In future, I will act in accordance of Misplaced Pages guidelines. Thanks SnehaSharma. One (talk) 07:27, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- @SnehaSharma.One: Editing while logged out to make problematic edits is considered sockpuppetry. You removed speedy deletion templates even after you were warned not to. According to spi clerk, your IP will be blocked for a day and you will get a warning. It is still a violation of policy even if you don't know. I suggest you to read policies and guidelines of wikipedia. You wrote a biography which did not have any reliable sources. User generated sources are not reliable including wikipedia. You should try to add independently published sources. Everything in a biography should have a source, if not, unsourced material will be removed immediately. Venustar84
Hi, I have mentioned another recent sock, Pegasusphinx in the SPI request. I am not sure if I am allowed to edit the rest of the complaint. The account should be formally added. There are dozens more, but I have not kept track of them over the years. μηδείς (talk) 18:26, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Medeis: I think you can edit other sections except the last one. I thought you will definitely give more information about her that's why I pinged you. Checkuser will search for sleeper accounts, if they find any more accounts, they will block them. Thanks Supdiop (Talk🔹Contribs) 19:01, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

That was pretty darn funny. —Tamfang (talk) 22:44, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
- I came to that conclusion too fast. I should have done some more research before making that accusation. If you look at the SPI of Venustar84, you can understand why. I hope you don't take this seriously. Supdiop (Talk🔹Contribs) 23:02, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

List of Rollbackers
Are you doing this manually 500 at a time? Here's the complete list using the method PrimeHunter suggested at the Helpdesk. - NQ (talk) 02:08, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
- I didn't do it manually, I used these tools. I didn't see the PrimeHunter's comment until now. I was too immersed in doing other things. Thanks for making the list. I would have continued to do 500 at a time if you didn't comment on my talk page. Supdiop (Talk🔹Contribs) 02:35, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, have you made your script available yet? I couldn't see it here, cheers Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:05, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Jimfbleak, I added it to the list. Supdiop (Talk🔹Contribs) 18:16, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, have you made your script available yet? I couldn't see it here, cheers Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:05, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
- Supdiop, I would advise against adding the script to the main page at this time. The list of users with rollback rights changes quite frequently and since you plan on updating this list manually, it is quite impossible to maintain the accuracy of the list at any given time. Amalthea has their own bot that does this for them. You'd probably need an automated script that does an api query like https://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allusers&augroup=rollbacker&aulimit=500&format=jsonfm&rawcontinue, converts it into the desired format and updates the list everyday. (From what I understand, max results for an api query is 500 for regular users and 5000 for admins/bots.) Also, since you are essentially using Amalthea's script, there is a matter of attribution/license - I don't know much about this, PrimeHunter or Redrose64 might be able to tell you more. - NQ (talk) 00:43, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- I will decide what to do in couple of days. I am looking for a script which will update the list. I also did some experiments with API. I think there is no problem with attribution because I mentioned the page, where script was originally taken from, in my script's page. Supdiop (Talk🔹Contribs) 07:37, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- When I need a list of rollbackers - which isn't often - I click Special pages in the left sidebar, where under the heading "Users and rights" is a link Users. In that, there's a selection list named "Group" from which I select "Rollbackers" and click Go, which produces this list, which is always up to date. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:44, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Redrose64, the 'list' I was referring to, is this. There is a script which highlights admins, I recently modified it to highlight rollbackers. Since the list changes very often, it is hard to manually update the list. I don't know how to update the list automatically everyday. Is there any way to update the list automatically other than setting up a bot? You can find another relevant discussion here and this is the new script. Thank you Supdiop (Talk🔹Contribs) 11:35, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
