History
Deforestation in India is dated since the 19the century when the British overtaken the control over the Indian forest mainly in the western and southern part of India.
Causes
There are several cause of deforestation in India which include the colonization by the Britisher to the expansion of Agriculture, shifting Cultivation, fire Wood Collection, timber Harvesting, extension of Cultivation on Hill Slopes etc.
Effects
The major cause of deforestation in India is the global effect which results to the climate change. This has also effected the lives of wild animals and birds including the bats.
