Hello Liao, welcome to Misplaced Pages. You might like to start by reading the tutorial and introducing yourself at the new users page. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Two useful tips are that you can sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) and you can preview your changes before you save using the show preview button. You can regularly find new tips on the Community Portal. I look forward to reading your great articles and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. :) Angela. 13:40, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)

WikiProject Computer science

Hi, and welcome to WikiProject Computer science! We are looking forward to collaborating with you in the future. Cheers, —Ruud 11:08, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

ThinkPad Reverts

I don't understand why you keep reverting any change at all to the criticism section of ThinkPad (especially to remove notable and well cited criticism). I have reverted your changes and given my reasoning at Talk:ThinkPad#Reverts. I hope we can work together to improve the article. --Karnesky 01:07, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Enjoyed your wiki page

Leo,

I enjoyed your Wiki page, especially the part about China's scientific discoveries. Do you know Cong Cao's article "China's Nobel Prize Complex?" It is at http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:9BPOW9gpp28J:china-us.uoregon.edu/publications/Minerva-2004.pdf+cong+cao+china%27s+nobel+prize+complex&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1 <http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:9BPOW9gpp28J:china-us.uoregon.edu/publications/Minerva-2004.pdf+cong+cao+china%27s+nobel+prize+complex&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1>

Cong Cao has an interesting list in the article.

AfD nomination of List of Chinese inventions

An editor has nominated List of Chinese inventions, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of Chinese inventions and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. List of Chinese inventions

It is both strongly against WP policy, and counter-productive to remove an AfD template from an article, unless you want to see the article deleted. It is the best way of attracting readers of the article to vote in the Afd debate. Johnbod 22:36, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

With all due respect. It is just your personal opinions about what is "the best way" of doing any thing. And your sentence of " ..unless you want ..." reads like a unpleasant threaten to me. I reverted the article back and gave explanation there. I'd like to discuss with anybody with any argument. But mutual respect is the prerequisite. --Leo 23:06, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Having the article deleted will "disturb the normal reading" even more. It is not my personal opinion: "Do not remove ..." is stated on the AfD tag. You haven't even added it to the talk page. Johnbod 20:53, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Hai-Sha Ni

An article that you have been involved in editing, Hai-Sha Ni, has been listed by me for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Hai-Sha Ni. Thank you. WLU 17:57, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

The ultimate team organization software

A tag has been placed on The ultimate team organization software, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Evil1987 22:26, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Common subexpression elimination

Hi Liao,

Thanks for the nice commit in that article.

However, doesn't it introduce an inconsistence? Later on in the article, another paragraph suggests that data flow analysis is only needed for global CSE, not in a basic block (local CSE). Your contribution suggests that data flow analysis is used in all the cases.

Would it be possible to clarify that point?

Best, --MathsPoetry (talk) 02:16, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Array access analysis

The article Array access analysis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable software stub, unreferenced since July 2009.

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Peter Deadman for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Peter Deadman is suitable for inclusion in Misplaced Pages according to Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Peter Deadman until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Rathfelder (talk) 21:43, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
