Mizoram is a state in northeastern India. Population: approximiately 890,000 (2001 census); Literacy: 89% - second highest among Indian States after Kerala.

Tribes

The main tribe is Mizo, divided into many sub-tribes, namely the Lushei, Ralte, Hmar, Paihte, Pawi (or Poi).It is the only state in the north east that is at peace.Christianity is the dominant religion with 98%of the population being christian, A small number of them are also Animists.
