Armando Gutierrez during Elián González-related events

Armando Gutierrez (born November 17, 1949) is a political figure in the United States.

Gutierrez was born in Cuba, but political pressures forced him into exile to the United States, where he spent several years in New Jersey and eventually settled in Miami, Florida. After several years in the banking industry, Gutierrez had built a strong name in the Cuban community, which led to his involvement in politics. For over 30 years presidents, senators, and many international politicians have consulted with Gutierrez about Cuban issues.

Gutierrez has run hundreds of political campaigns that have led to the election of national and local political leaders. He also had a role in the election of the Prime Minister of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

He acted as spokesperson for the family of Elián González during the Elián González saga. Gutierrez led the efforts in Miami to help Elián maintain his freedom.

Armando Gutierrez was named one of the top 500 influential hispanics in the USA. He is married to Maritza Gutierrez and they have two sons, Armando Gutierrez, Jr. and Chad Gutierrez.
