New Village is sometimes known as Chinese New Village (Chinese: 华人新村), is a special name created during the early pre-Independence days. The purpose of certain (or probably all) New Villages in Malaysia was, to segregate the villagers and have them live together in a new village far away from the early Malayan Communist Party.
