== Randolph and Rustin ==
Why did you remove the key organizers names from the article about the march on washington?
What was there: | |||
:A large 100,000 person march was first contemplated in 1941 by A. Philip Randolph along with the support of Bayard Rustin and a white dutch immigrant named A.J. Muste. After more than two decades in development, in 1962 A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin would manage to organize an enormous group of civil rights, labor, and religious organizations, under the banner of "jobs, and freedom". Estimates of the number of participants varies from 200,000 to 300,000; Observers estimated that 75–80% of the marchers were black.
What you left in it's place:
:The march was organized by a group of civil rights, labor, and religious organizations, under the banner of "jobs, and freedom". Estimates of the number of participants varied from 200,000 to 300,000; it is widely accepted that approximately 250,000 people participated in the march. Observers estimated that 75–80% of the marchers were black.
--] (]) 04:20, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
:Hi ]. First, you're mistaken. I didn't '''remove''' Randolph and Rustin. With a small exception, I '''restored''' the paragraph to the way it was before you changed it.
:As to ''why'' I reverted your changes, I just explained at ]: you gave the 1940s ] too much emphasis by making it the subject of the second paragraph of the article. You need to read ] and ]. — ] ]/] 04:38, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
::You "reverted" an entire series of edits in one mouse click. Please put the edits back the way I had them and if you don't think "first contemplated in 1941 by" fits and it might better read "first contemplated by" then we can agree. Until then, your edit was far too agressive. For example, you added "it is widely accepted that approximately 250,000 people participated in the march." back to the page which is just silly. In other words, you completely ignored my edits all because you didn't like one word. Please undo your over-reaching edit. --] (]) 04:49, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
:::], I'm sorry your feelings are hurt but this is exactly the way Misplaced Pages works. Please read ]: You made a bold edit, you were reverted, and now we're discussing your changes. (We ''should'' be discussing them at ], where a larger group of editors could participate.)
:::We won't ever agree about 1941 '''because it doesn't belong in the lead'''. Somebody who wants a quick summary of the facts about the ''1963'' March on Washington doesn't need a digression about a march that ''didn't'' happen 20 years earlier.
:::With respect to the phrase I '''restored''', that it's widely accepted that 250,000 people participated in the march, that's what ] say. I'm sorry you think that's silly.
:::If you'd like to continue this discussion, please take it to ]. Thank you. — ] ]/] 05:34, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
:::Nope, I don't want to continue the discussion, this is a poorly written sentence which you are forcing me to fix a second time:
::::Estimates of the number of participants varied from 200,000 to 300,000; it is widely accepted that approximately 250,000 people participated in the march.
:::Now reads, without the unnecessary redundancy:
::::Estimates of the number of participants varied from 200,000 to 300,000.
:::Because telling people that 250,000 is between 200k and 300k is redundant.
:::Further I correct the edit you reverted which did not attribute the march to the actual organizers, particularly Rustin who was mentioned long ago in the talk page. Rustin is the main organizer of the march of the march and his name belongs (along with Randolph and AJ Muste).
::: previous text: | |||
:::: The march was organized by a group of civil rights, labor, and religious organizations,
::: to: | |||
:::: The march was created by A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin who organized a group of civil rights,
Kindly leave my edits alone

Your comments at AE
Malik, please strongly consider retracting most of your comments at WP:AE. Your characterization of Guy Macon is way over the top. He has dominated the discussions (as have others), and perhaps he's been tendentious, but to call him a troll and king of the Jews clearly violates WP:NPA.
Worse, your threat of going to the press has nearly the same chilling effect as a legal threat. If I were an admin, I would have blocked you until you retracted it.
Again, please consider revising your comments.- MrX 12:25, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Malik Shabazz, I see your comments have caused you to be brought to ANI in a complaint. I echo MrX's advice to retract or strike out your remarks which I think were likely posted in the heat of the moment. Liz 20:46, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
- Comment Keep your head up @Malik Shabazz:. We can thank ourselves that @MrX: is not an admin given the poor judgement he has shown in suggesting a block and deliberately taking your comments out of context. MrX you have claimed that Malik had "call him (Guy Macon) a troll and king of the Jews". This is false as your diff demonstrates. In reality Malik stated "I don't know who appointed Guy Macon King of the Jews". Quite materially different to what you have alleged. I must remember to oppose any application for adminship.. Misplaced Pages is not a membership organisation that requires an oath of allegiance. It is not chilling in the slightest to suggest contact with the press. Only those who are in the wrong would oppose such a thing. AusLondonder (talk) 01:39, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
