Barnstar of diplomacy
The Barnstar of Diplomacy | ||
The Barnstar of Diplomacy is awarded to users who have helped to resolve, peacefully, conflicts on Misplaced Pages. Bernie Sanders is Jewish and there's nothing wrong with that! -- Kendrick7 03:13, 15 March 2016 (UTC) |
- Thank you, Kendrick7. I'm truly honored. — Malik Shabazz /Stalk 01:26, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages fork
Quick question on 2/16 - you cited the two encyclopedia's below as Wiki Forks. I think that both are not Wiki Forks, as both existed prior to Misplaced Pages and do not mirror (copy exactly) or fork (copy, but change parts of the material of) Misplaced Pages. I did not look at the entry, but stating that either of these sources is a copy of Misplaced Pages is untrue.

thanks Amytecko (talk) 21:03, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Amytecko. I think you misunderstood my edit summary. The problem is that the two sources were invalid, each for its own reason. The Jewish Encyclopedia was published between 1901 and 1906, and is not a reliable source concerning Samaritanism among 21st-century Palestinians. The New World Encyclopedia is a self-described Misplaced Pages fork (look at the next-to-last paragraph of its About page), which means it can't be used as a reliable source either. I hope that helps. — Malik Shabazz /Stalk 01:48, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I would add that most of us greatly respect the "JE1906", as it is known, for what it is and what it does. But its reliability as a source for "modern practice" is zero, and its reliability for just about anything else must be evaluated, with at least a moderately healthy dose of skepticism, on a case-by-case basis. Request
I'm trying to ignite a discussion surrounding the use of the term "Civil Rights Movement" on Misplaced Pages. I posted "Article title as possible original research" on the Misplaced Pages:No original research/Noticeboard. Is it possible for you to look at it? You don't have to comment there. I feel like I'm the only person who thinks this way about that term on Misplaced Pages. I need somebody to tell me if it makes sense or if I'm crazy. I don't know where to have this type of discussion on Misplaced Pages.
On an off topic, how are you semi-retired? I see your edits pop-up all the time. Anyhow, thanks. Mitchumch (talk) 11:07, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Mitchumch. Thank you for bringing the discussion at WP:NOR/N to my attention. I'll leave a comment there shortly. (I was aware of your merger proposal with respect to the articles about pre-1954 movements, but I didn't know about the noticeboard discussion.)
