Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Misplaced Pages's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at South Pacific (musical), you may be blocked from editing. Copperopolis guy previously blocked for adding original research, when he was using the Copperopolis IP Special:Contributions/66.102.146.179. Binksternet (talk) 03:49, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

Bink, you might consider creating the page with a welcome template like {{welcomeunsourced}} instead of this scary warning template. ~Adjwilley (talk) 04:34, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

Just read your talk page and that of your friends also harassing me. You guys are loose cannons - frequently engaging in the exact same behaviors for which you condemn others and have no business being the pots that call the kettles black. These other kids may tolerate that behavior, I do not. Your recent conduct and that of your friends has been reported to administration for review.

Go bother somebody else. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.102.157.201 (talk) 18:43, 28 July 2015‎ (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, 66.102.157.201, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits has not conformed to Misplaced Pages's verifiability policy, and has been or will be removed. Misplaced Pages articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Misplaced Pages also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Misplaced Pages:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask a question on your talk page. Again, welcome.

FYI

I saw your post at AN and I wanted to let you know that your experience and knowledge are a gift and deserve respect. Unfortunately, here at Misplaced Pages they are only a starting point for editing articles. Any info added to articles require reliable sources that come from WP:SECONDARY publications. The links in the message above lead to policies and guidelines that will help to get you started. Question can be asked at the Misplaced Pages:Teahouse/Questions. One last comment that is meant in humor - this is not the best place for peace and quite as way too many of us can tell you. Please don't let that put you off from editing though. MarnetteD|Talk 05:12, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

What good does it do if 3/4 of my time has to be taken up every month reverting people's reversions of MY revisions to a piece? Like I say all over - these kids need to go bother some other kids who have time energy and tolerance to be tolerating the drama.

I do not. When I was teaching, the last time I had to tolerate challenges to my work, my children were little and I wasn't even on tenure track yet. As I have become a respected member of the community - it's like a drill instructor in the military. you do what I tell you or you're not in this man's (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard etc) very long.

And like I said - generally people leave me and my work alone even on Misplaced Pages. To the first-time offenders I tell them just what I wrote on the AN page. Hardheads that do it again I stomp on, and repeat offenders I report to administration - and THEN they go bother somebody else - especially since blocking entire ranges of an ISP in the big city or major university is pointless. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.102.157.201 (talk) 18:51, 28 July 2015‎ (UTC)

Sourcing; Reusing info from other articles

Hi. I have seen some of your recent talk page comments, and I hope I can help you to avoid further difficulty in contributing to Misplaced Pages. Your knowledge of broadcasting and recording is, of course, useful in building the encyclopedia -- Because you have this knowledge, you should be able to find sources to support the information that you add to the encyclopedia. WP:V and WP:OR are two of our most important content policies, and if you read them, they will explain why sources need to be cited to verify the facts given in this encyclopedia. If you transfer information from one article here, to another, please make sure that you also transfer the citations to sources given in the first article. If sources are cited there, then the information should not be transferred until you, or someone, researches the facts and finds a reliable source for them. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:39, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

Edit warring notice

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for Promising to edit war. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus.

1. Major university professors who are tenure-protected do not ``seek consensus or `discuss controversial changes' with A) kids who could be their students B) people who have little to no personal knowledge about the subject at hand and C) are only interested in following a process/flowchart. I've been telling my students and trainees for 50 years: The world is full of clones. Do your best not to become one.

If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution,

2. See response above.

and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

3. See Below. After we and those who support OUR agenda get through with you, Wikipiedia's pages will ALL be semi or permanently protected - thereby killing the whole purpose of the project.

Hanging up now and getting a new IP in the 36 hours it takes in this podunk town.

The block has already expired. But please be aware of the need to get consensus for any edits that other people may disagree with. You were reported at WP:Administrators' noticeboard/3RRArchive289#MarnetteD repeated edit warring (Result: IP blocked). Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 15:28, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

BBZZZZTTT I reported THEM for harassment not the other way around.

You may have me backed into a corner for now due to the technological limitations of this itty bitty town out in the podunks and it may be true that I can't attend to you here and now as I'd like, but once I ditch this retirement life and move back to the Peninsula where I belong - where I can hang up every twenty minutes and get a new IP - all your blocking threats will return to the status of ``ineffective and a waste of time.

Especially when I re-inherit my cadre of graduate student assistants who will like nothing better than to re-revert everybody's reversions all day long everyday - and then hang up every twenty minutes as well to get a new IP.

Happy Blocking.

Why not learn to edit collaboratively instead of having all your work deleted? -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:41, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Because come January, there'll be more of us results-oriented reverters than there will be of you process oriented cubicle warriors.

1. The next time you have success telling your university professors, corporate executives, law enforcement or anybody else how to do their job, let me know I'll call the networks to send in Film at Eleven.

2. When's the last time you tried to `educate' or `teach' a 72 year old tenured university professor in newer and/or better ways of doing things that had any lasting effect?

3. Like I said - once my graduate-student staff and I can hang up every twenty minutes and get a new IP - see above under ``huge staff doing nothing all day long but reverting everybody's reversions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.102.157.201 (talk) 16:46, 2 August 2015‎ (UTC)

November 2015

Read above. Go bother somebody else.

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Time Life, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Misplaced Pages:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Manway 17:51, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Edit reverted and edit warring reported. If your behavior keeps up, the Three Revert (and several other related) Rule will be tripped and the page will become protected for all members except for administrators.

Go bother somebody else.

Please do not add information without citing reliable sources

Information icon Hello, I'm 32.218.46.71. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Rockwell Automation, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 32.218.46.71 (talk) 02:45, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Misplaced Pages, as you did at Rockwell Automation. - After an unsourced statement has been challenged, you must not add it again without a reliable source.
