Alexander Prokhorenko (Russian: Алекса́ндр Алекса́ндрович Прохоре́нко; 21 June 1990 – 17 March 2016), also known as Russian 'Rambo' was a Spetsnaz of Russian Armed Forces during the Palmyra offensive (March 2016). He was identifying targets for Russian airstrikes and was surrounded by ISIS near Palmyra when he ordered an airstrike on himself.
On 11 April 2016, President Vladimir Putin declared Prokhorenko as a Hero of the Russian Federation, the highest Russian honor. His funeral was held in Gorodki on 6 May 2016.

Repatriation of his body
Kremilin, in co-ordinatation with Kurdish forces, recovered and repatriated his body, and it arrived back in Moscow on Friday, according to the Russian defense ministry said. His Repatriation "was a matter of honour for the Russian Defence Ministry," according to a spokesperson.
