1) Okay, doing so now. The talk page consensus arbitration seems appropriate. I was not aware I was removing any sourced material, so if I did, I apologize. Also, I'm not trying to put the "worst possible negative interpretation" into any of the articles, especially with the new paragraph which (I think) is fairly balanced. 1) Okay, doing so now. I'm discussing the issue on your page and on the articles' talk pages. i don't need you to copy vast amounts of Misplaced Pages text onto my page when you don't seem to understand some of Misplaced Pages's basic rules. I removed it once. Do not keep restoring it. You were edit warring, adding non-reliable sources, and creating BLP violations. Don't try to give me a hard time. Stay off my page. ] (]) 02:31, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Gloss. Misplaced Pages is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Suzanne Collins seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Gloss 21:43, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Daphne, Alabama

Hi, I'm unsure why you removed the notable person entry from the Daphne, Alabama page. He attended Daphne High School and his parents hold a Daphne address. Perhaps a comment in the edit summary would help. JodyB talk 17:35, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi Jody! I removed the Islamic militant from the Daphne "Notable People" section because it does not appear that he is really notable in a way that relates to Daphne, although I understand he was born and attended high school there. Also, I'm not sure he's all that notable, in that he went to Africa, joined a fringe Jihadist group, and was then killed by them-- hardly the picture of a "leader" or an important part of that group's dealings.

I took him off the page again, but if you feel strongly that he should be included, I won't delete it again.

Thanks, Gentlejackjones (talk) 21:21, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks for your thoughts. Please take a look at my reasoning on the talk page and I think we might be able to agree.I'm not going to re-add it until we can talk some. JodyB talk 21:29, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Hey JodyB,

I read your relevant language on the Daphne talk page and it is soundly reasoned; I agree, now, that he is notable. Thanks for educating me on the processes of Misplaced Pages and on this unfortunate individual. Although I don't know how to undo my edit, I am in complete agreement with your re-addition of the militant and apologize for the hassle.

Many thanks and kind regards,

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add defamatory content, as you did at The Hunger Games (novel), you may be blocked from editing. Meters (talk) 23:15, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Removing the previous warning isn't going to help. Part of the edit is clearly a BLP violation. As for the rest of the edit, take to the talk page per WP:BRD. Meters (talk) 23:15, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Not trying to do anything disruptive, and am attempting a more nuanced version of the plagiarism scandal. I think I put it up now. Your threats are misplaced.Gentlejackjones (talk) 23:44, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Misplaced Pages, as you did at ]. Meters (talk) 23:28, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

A few honest points/questions: 1) Ok, I won't remove the see also instructions. I still would think that Misplaced Pages users would want to know that Battle Royale and Hunger Games are linked, hence the inclusion in "See Also". Originally, the See Also instructions were to the effect that Battle Royale needn't be mentioned, because it was already part of the body. With the plagiarism scandal included in the main article, I agree that Battle Royale need not be included in the "See Also" section.

2) Do you honestly not think the Battle Royale/Hunger Games controversy is not Wiki-worthy? It has been reported on by The New York Times, ABC News, etc.-- And this used to be part of Collins' page, the Hunger Games' page, etc. Shouldn't Misplaced Pages be all-encompassing, rather than geared towards a certain narrative?Gentlejackjones (talk) 23:44, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

The link to Battle Royale is already in the article. It is discussed. There no need to add a see also link. You have put it in three times. if you do it again you will likely be blocked for violating WP:3RR.
As for the topic of the possibility of plagiarism, I didn't say that the topic should not be mentioned at all. I objected to your BLP violation where you explicitly stated that she had plagiarized, sourced to Buzzfeed and a blog. That is not acceptable. Repeating the identical BLP violation in three different article snad then restoring it is definitely not acceptable. The topic of the similarities is mentioned in the article about the book, so I don't see why it has to be repeated in the article on the series. I didn't undo yo when you moved the existing material into a separate section since I am waiting for other editors to decide if that edit is appropriate. I know a separate section has been turned down before so I'll wait to see what other editors think. When someone removed you r edit it is up top you to discuss the edit on the talk page. Meters (talk) 23:48, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

1) We're in agreement about no need for a "See Also" link. So let's move past that one; 2) I promise not to violate the 3-revert rule. In fact, you can see that I have replaced my first edit of this page with a more balanced, well-cited section, rather than just reverting. In fact, it seems like you may be in violation for undoing my edits without salvaging useful text. Be careful of glass houses. 3) I won't cite to Buzzfeed or blogs again. I wasn't aware of Buzzfeed being a bad source, but I'll never cite to it in Wiki again. I'm sorry about that. 4) I appreciate your forbearance on the similarities-in-a-separate-section question. I think that because it is a different field, it should have its own heading. 5) I'm still new to this Wiki thing. Please don't bite the newbies. I am on your side, truly! When I undid or reverted your edits, I was trying to do so to get back to my template, then edit the section with better sourced-information. Although I thought I originally stopped short of accusing Collins outright, you may be right about the "wholesale" thing. So again, sorry. 6) My remaining point is that it is important to consider all the facts about just about anything and everything, and there are many who have pointed to the similarities between the novels, and it is a large sidenote (is that a word?) to the entire Suzanne Collins-Hunger Games conversation. 7) Can we please be friends?Gentlejackjones (talk) 23:58, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

You were warned about some of your edits on this topic more than a year ago. Stop trying to put the worst possible negative interpretation into all of the possible articles while removing some of the sourced material that suggests otherwise. I will start a talk page thread about whether the issue should be in a separate section. Make your point there. I suggest that you not make any more potentially contentious edits these articles until there is talk page consensus about what to do. Meters (talk) 00:11, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
