Battleground (2016) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event and WWE Network event produced by WWE. It will be taking place on July 24, 2016 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.. It will be the fourth event under the Battleground chronology, and the first event since the new WWE brand extension.

The professional wrestling matches at Battleground will feature professional wrestlers performing as characters in scripted events pre-determined by the hosting promotion, WWE. Storylines between the characters played out on WWE's primary television programs, Raw and SmackDown. Dean Ambrose vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat. Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is set to headline the event after the events of Money In The Bank where Rollins beat Reigns only for Ambrose to cash in Money In The Bank and take the title from him.
