The 3rd District of the Iowa Senate is located in northwestern Iowa, and is currently composed of Plymouth and Woodbury Counties.

Bill Anderson is the senator currently representing the 3rd District.
The area of the 1st District contains two Iowa House of Representatives districts:
- The 5th District (represented by Chuck Holz)
- The 6th District (represented by Ron Jorgensen)
