Dr. Chuck Tingle is the pseudonym of an anonymous author of niche erotica, whose works have been described as "absurd" and "bizarre". The persona is portrayed as a folksy father from Billings, Montana and his work is self-published on Amazon.com. Tingle stays in-character during interviews and on his Twitter feed. He began his career by writing dinosaur erotica and expanded to stories based on various inanimate objects.

In April 2016, Space Raptor Butt Invasion was shortlisted for a Hugo Award for Best Short Story, as part of the Rabid Puppies campaign to influence the outcome of the 2016 Hugo Awards. In response to concerns that he was nominated as part of the Rabid Puppies campaign, Tingle has stated via his Twitter account that if he wins, Zoë Quinn will accept the award on his behalf.
