Contacting me
If you wish to contact me, the quickest and easiest way is to use This Talk Page. If I am logged into Misplaced Pages, whicih is likely if I am awake, I will see the new messages flag and respond as quickly as I can.
Please use my email link only as a last resort
Note well-- I believe Misplaced Pages communications should be as transparent as possible. I will post any email related to Misplaced Pages on my talk page. I will respond on the emailer's Talk Page. It is very unlikely that I will respond via email, as that would not be transparent.

Re: Forbes Wild Foods Page
I just spent a short while creating a page for Forbes Wild Foods. I am curious why it is that multinational companies are allowed space to give information about the company( i.e. dell computers or Coca-Cola) but if something that doesn’t have the size or history puts up a page it is marked for deletion. no where on the page are their any leads to the company or any indication that it sells anything. it is about Canadian wild foods and as Forbes wild foods is the leading Canadian wild food company and is connected to such movements as the slow food movement it deserves its place in the public encyclopedia. This seems to be two sided and unfair particularly when as much of Forbes wild foods is about the education of food stuffs as is the selling.
no sales leads or links to how to buy the food where places in , references to other companies in the same boat are there . this is not publicity but an actual company that exists in the real world and has as much right to have space on wikipidia as any other corporation that has grown large enough to make its own publicity and history appear to be worth of an encyclopedic entry.

Easter Early Music The class was started in 1984 as the Welsh Early Music Week, at Swansea and in 2000 moved to St. George's School, Ascot. Students who take this class are advanced players of the viol, recorder and other early instruments.
There are two 90 minute sessions each day with a tutor for half of the session. One session is with the same group each day, the other session is with a group that vary in size and players.
The students learn new technique's through lectures and large and small ensembles. The students study broken consorts of viols and recorders. There is a large library available full of music for students to play.
Camp Barracudas For the past 15 years the Barracudas summer camp have been providing day camps. The Barracudas were started in 1992 as two very small summer camps that have grown to 27 camp locations. The camp is for children aged 4 1/2 - 16 years. The camp runs from Monday 31st July - Friday 25th August 2006.
St. George's School, Ascot is a camp location with a variety of activities for children to enjoy. The school has a small camp of around 100 children and 12 instructors who work together in small groups on activities that range from baseball and basketball to video film making and volleyball. The school has facilities that include: a sports hall, a heated outdoor swimming pool, a motor sports track, tennis courts, arts and craft room, archery range, playing fields, and a dining room. In addition to the regular camp activities there are several special intensive courses that include: fencing, football, motor sports, swimming and tennis. The intensive courses are aimed at building confidence and improving the skill level of each child.
Young Leadership Camp Sir Trevor Brooking is opening the Football Association Young Leadership Camp. The camp will improve leadership and team building skills for 100 top football athletes. The national Football Association staff will teach players how to coach and referee, sports science, goalkeeping, disability football and the new and exciting game of 5-a-side called futsal. The top three athletes will be eligible to train internationally in Botswana in the international placement programme.
My RfA
Hi, I feel I did not explain myself well regarding polls are evil. I have replied to bunchofgrapes !votein an effort to explain further but I dont know if you missed it or not. I wonder if you would mind discussing this further on my RfA talk page so that I can get some more views and discuss our ideas. I have asked other users to chip in to and would be obliged if you could pop in and have your say. Thanks --Errant Tmorton166(Review me) 21:22, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
PS I am not attempting to change your vote (well maybe but that isnt the main reason) Im fairly sure I have failed my nom - and thats fine - but I would like to improve and take positives from this. --Errant Tmorton166(Review me) 21:22, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

I've tried speedying it, but he/she keeps it up, so I don't know what to do. Technically, maybe it shouldn't be speedied. Based on the cretor's efforts, should it even be prodded or AfD'd? Thoughts? - CobaltBlueTony 15:07, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

This doesn't look like patent nonsense to me; it's a perfectly adequate description of an activity. However, it does seem to be non-notable and it violates WP:NFT (which is why I prodded it). I'm going to despeedy it for the second time, but if the tag is readded I won't remove it after that. --ais523 13:15, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
My RfA
Thanks!
Thank you very much for supporting (even weakly) my recent Request for Adminship, and for the detailed rationale you provided. The request was ultimately unsuccessful - which wasn't entirely surprising - and so I'll be taking special care to address the concerns raised by the opposing !voters before running again. If you have any feedback for me, please don't hesitate to leave it at my talk page. Thanks! |

Testing for WP:WEB
The guidelines for notability are admittedly a bit vague. Read WP:WEB; if you're creating an article about a website the best way to ensure that it won't get deleted for nonnotability is to include links to independent media stories about the website (the first criterion listed under WP:WEB). Whenever I have any doubts about a website's notability -- if there's an AfD for a site I've never heard of, for example -- the first thing I usually do is check the site's Alexa rank. If it's got six or more digits, that raises a red flag and I look closer to see if the site meets the notability guidelines. If the article doesn't cite any reliable sources about how the site meets the guidelines, I usually vote to delete. Keep in mind of course that I'm not an administrator. VoiceOfReason 03:54, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- You're welcome. Of course, Alexa rank isn't actually part of the guidelines... but it's a good early warning system, if you know what I mean. If a site has a low Alexa rank, I can usually assume it's notable without needing to dig too much. VoiceOfReason 04:20, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
RfA thanks
Thank you very much for participating in my RFA, which closed successfully today with a result of (62/18/3). I will go very carefully at first, trying to make sure I don't mess up too badly using the tools, and will begin by re-reading all the high-quality feedback I received during the process, not least from those who opposed me. Any further advice/guidance will be gratefully accepted. I hope I will live up to your trust! Guinnog 14:58, 30 August 2006 (UTC)} |
Your response to AfD for Pierre Fitch
Hi, you recently added a motion for keeping the article Pierre Fitch on the page's AfD.
I would just like to tell you that citing the number of Google hits a porn actor receives is an invalid and misleading way to decide your vote. Many porn sites use Googlebombing to inflate the number of hits that their porn actors receive, so the number of G-hits is quite misleading. The same also applies with the Alexa Internet test.
If you read WP:PORNBIO, you will see that it says that "The adult film industry uses Googlebombing to influence rankings on search engines for current performers' names. As a result, the Google test is not suitable to determine the notability of a performer. This is especially the case for performers whose work antedates the Web."
I don't know if this will change your vote, but I just wanted to tell you so you would know for future AfD voting purposes.
Thanks, and happy editing!
--Nishkid64 15:03, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, usually there's no "way" to measure Google tests. That's why you can't say "pass Google test" or "fail Google test". You can cite the number of relevant hits and type of hits you get as your basis for your decision, but usually if I say something like "50,000 hits", I like to add some other stuff like "Fail WP:CORP or "Pass WP:MUSIC". Basically, I'm saying that you really can't use only the Google test as the basis of your decision. --Nishkid64 15:27, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Oh. Ummm...for gay porn stars...you use the criteria from WP:PORNBIO. --Nishkid64 15:51, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Hate To Disappoint You
I just saw what you put on Lar's page, and I hate to disappoint you, but i'm not Karmafist, check the top of my talk page and you'll see the proof of that. I think i've met him once or twice though.
What the hell has he done anyway? Whenever I hear about him in town, he seems pretty ok, if a little high strung at times. Vice President In Charge Of Office Supplies 13:05, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I hear ya, that's what i'd expect out of a politician, he's running for state rep here in town, and seems like he's the only one running despite the fact that there are alot more candidates. Can't blame him for being what he is though.
I go to alot of meetings and such in town, and I think I know who he is(but i'm not sure if he knows who I am),so I can pass along the word if you'd like. Like I said to the others, i'm not here to cause trouble, but like how it sounds with this karmafist guy, I should tell you that us Granite Staters are generally rather independent minded and defensive when people attack our feeling of indpendence. Heck, look at our state motto. :-) Vice President In Charge Of Office Supplies 13:39, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- No, outing someone's anonymity is against the rules, and I have no message to pass. I prefer to stay out of politics, Wiki and otherwise. Possibly a mistake?
Hi, I received a message concerning vandalism of wikipedia. I rarely if ever make changes to pages, and usually it is only correcting spelling errors or making sections more understandable. I apologise without reservation if I have done anything that would be considered vandalism, but I cannot think what I could have done. Could you tell me what instance you are referring to? I haven't made any modifications in a while. Thank you for your time, Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.8.57 (talk • contribs) :) Dlohcierekim 13:34, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Something else new
This article is truly fascinating also.
Too bad you jurisdiction doesn't extend that far. Here's a hint, get off the computer and get a life.

Marina (TV series) copyvio
I've reviewed to blocks of copyvio from this. You are the handiest expert on copyright I can think of. The bulk of the remainder of the article is from IMDB. My inclination is to blank it and slap on a copyvio sticker. If you can provide me with an alternative to that or rewriting the thing myself, I'll do it. Otherwise, I feel the nest thing is to get rid of it. :) Dlohcierekim 01:49, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- If there's a version in history that hasn't been copied from somewhere, you can revert to that version. Otherwise, the only thing to do is list it as a copyvio. --Carnildo 02:25, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

3 Matt Fullerty pages
Dear Dlohcierekim,
I recently created a page "Matt Fullerty" that was deleted. I wondered if you could also delete the following related pages http://en.wikipedia.org/User_talk:Mattfullerty http://en.wikipedia.org/Talk:MattFullerty and http://en.wikipedia.org/User_talk:68.55.206.203 ? This will help people searching for my site in google not to be led to a blank page at wikipedia. Many thanks for any help.
Sincerely,
Matt Fullerty
Seekraft
Dear Dlohcierekim,
I`m a trainee at a CRO in Starnberg, Bavaria, Germany. I think, that there is not enough biochemical, medical, chemical and genetical content in the Misplaced Pages. The articles I`ve posted, are technical terms for biochemical abbreviations. While working on clinical trial, I´m looking up words and names, especially the abbreviations, that are listed in the study protocols. The articles i wrote, come out of these study protocols (e.g. Roche) or they are translated from German into English by myself. Some definitions are a synthese of my knowledge and other articles. The definitions can be found easily with Google, too. I wish that there would be more medical data content for using Misplaced Pages as an unbeatable dictionary. I`m happy to answer any questions you may have.

Well, I posted my comments here. I hope that my comments do justice of my experience in Misplaced Pages. Thank you for your message
I hope this is an acceptable way of contact. I read your message but it seems you didn't read all the information in your own message viz Legal complaints bottom of the page reads thus.
Making a polite, coherent complaint in cases of copyright infringement or attacks against you is not a "legal threat".
If you are the owner of copyrighted material which has been inappropriately added to Misplaced Pages, a clear statement about whether it is licensed for such use is welcome and appropriate. According to the copyrights policy, copyrighted material not licensed for use and not justifiable as fair use will be removed.
Similarly, slander, libel, and defamation of character are not tolerated on Misplaced Pages. If you feel Misplaced Pages content libels you or someone else, you may bring it to the attention of the Community and administrators here, or by contacting the infoteam as described on this page. In either case the offensive material should be removed quickly. Disagreements as to the identity of a person, their motivations for a given action, opinions of third parties about them, etc. are not slander and legal threats cannot be used to have points of view enshrined in an article. end quote.
I have made a simple and valid complaint re poor editing ethics and due to patronising comments being the only response have now forwarded the complaint to jwales. I really do think that this is poor particularly when some individuals are making submissions as professionals where editors comments appear to undermine the authors integrity. I am involved in various forums and organisations where I have made free contributions and never encountered such an incident. Once I have been contacted by an editor over a queery with one submission but this was done privately through email. Good business ethics. This is a part of Misplaced Pages that must change.Pjbruce 15:11, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Right to vanish
Dear Dlohcierekim,
Thanks for adding a note to my "User Talk: Matt Fullerty" subpage mentioning the "right to vanish." Further to my above request (to delete the three "Matt Fullerty" pages), I think this is the best option. Please can you therefore "vanish me" or remove my account (and therefore username) from Misplaced Pages together with all its subpages. I understand only you can do this, so it would be great if you can. By all means remove this message and the above message on this page also, so no other links to my name remain. I hope this is possible. Feel free to e-mail me at fullerty@gmail.com, if you can, to explain what can be done. Again this is simply to prevent traffic to Misplaced Pages when there is no main page with regard to "Matt Fullerty" for people to visit.
