Call it what you will, but it is not a "threat", it is a notification of pending action and the same legal NOTICE was sent via U.S. Postal Mail certified by our attorney, and by email to Misplaced Pages Legal, just this afternoon. ] (]) 22:33, 2 December 2016 (UTC)dollyparton7

Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Dollyparton7. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article The World Tomorrow (radio and television), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Misplaced Pages articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Misplaced Pages article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Misplaced Pages's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Misplaced Pages's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 21:31, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages demands that we, as the trademark and copyright holders, create an account and then upload the material in question and sign a release.

How can one then ever avoid a COI, under these circumstances?

Information icon Hello, I'm Nihonjoe. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Category:Suspected Misplaced Pages sockpuppets of Garnerted without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Misplaced Pages with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You may not remove that template from that category. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 21:09, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

I'm NOT a sockpuppet of user Garnerted. It appears as if many users are attempting to falsely accuse me, block me, or to otherwise frustrate me into quitting or giving up my quest to simply upload a show title card to its corresponding Misplaced Pages article of the same name, TheWorldTomorrow(radio and television).jpg

WHY these strong objections from SO MANY established Misplaced Pages users to deny a photo insertion onto this page? Please answer and address my valid QUESTION. The title card we are using has been in the public domain, at numerous US and international websites, in print and video - since 1977. Nearly 40 years. Clearly we don't object to inserting it into the article as we created it, and we are the copyright and trademark owners of the content, logo, or show title card. ----dollyparton7

That's why the category is "Suspected Misplaced Pages sockpuppets of Garnerted" and not "Confirmed Misplaced Pages sockpuppets of Garnerted". ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 21:51, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

I am not interested in your invalid suspicions. And your suspect sockpuppet does not address my question. Please answer my question: Why can't anyone simply upload a show title card to its corresponding Misplaced Pages article of the same name, TheWorldTomorrow(radio and television).jpg WHY these strong objections from SO MANY established Misplaced Pages users to deny a photo insertion onto this page? ----dollyparton7

Same objection as has been in the past - incorrect upload. You're uploading a copyrighted title card (granted, you identify as you owning it) to the Commons. On the commons, you are tagging it as having a CC BY-SA license (meaning anyone can copy, distribute, or modify the image) and have not yet followed through the required commons:OTRS to confirm that release. Few copyright holders wish to do that, which is why copyrighted content is usually uploaded directly to Misplaced Pages using a fair-use rationale.
Meanwhile, you have submitted a request to have the image uploaded via Misplaced Pages:Files for upload#The World Tomorrow (radio and television).jpg and requested it be made available under fair-use authorization; but so far none of the volunteers who process those requests have gotten to it yet (there is a good sized backlog of requests over there). --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 22:11, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
Note: If, as you say the title card is "in the public domain", then you do not own the copyright to it. If it's in the public domain, it's free and not owned by anyone. Do not confuse the term "in the public domain" with something being published where the public can see it. The two statements have VERY different meanings. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 22:33, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
