Besh was born in Meridian, Mississippi, and raised in south Louisiana. His nine acclaimed restaurants all celebrate Southern regional cooking; Restaurant August, Besh Steakhouse, Lüke, La Provence, Domenica, Pizza Domenica, Johnny Sanchez, Shaya and Borgne.
