One of his first artistic appearances was a duet with Whitney Houston.
Abbott's parents came from Venezuela and Antigua. His mother gave him a first musical impulse by teaching piano. Before his career as musician, Abbott studied psychology at University of California, Berkeley and creative writing at Stanford. Also, he has taught english at University of California, Berkeley and is currently pursuing a PhD.
