Marcelo Ribeiro Freixo (Template:IPA-pt) is a Brazilian politician, broadcaster and professor. He is in the second year of his third term as state representative for Rio Socialism and Liberty Party (PSOL). He is the current chairman of the Defence Human Rights and Citizenship ALERJ.

Freixo gained national notoriety when he presided over the parliamentary inquiry commission on police militias in Rio de Janeiro, having a character inspired on him in the Brazilian film Tropa de Elite 2, directed by José Padilha.

He ran for mayor of Rio de Janeiro in 2016, having as vice-mayor candidate on the ticket the lawyer and professor at UFRJ Luciana Boiteux. He ended in second in the run-off, losing to the Brazilian Republican Party candidate Marcelo Crivella.
