Don Murphy is an American film producer best known for Natural Born Killers.

His then-partner, Jane Hamsher, wrote a book about their turbulent process making that film called Killer Instinct. In 1997, Quentin Tarantino, who was upset by remarks attributed to Murphy in Killer Instinct, got into an altercation with Murphy at a Hollywood restaurant. Harvey Weinstein, reportedly intervened physically after Tarantino sucker punched an unsuspecting Murphy. Murphy subsequently sued Tarantino for $5,000,000, but according to E! Online, received just $450. According to Murphy, Tarantino "sucker-punched" him, but the two have long since reconciled and put the incident behind them. On his personal message board, Murphy has termed information in his Misplaced Pages article "inaccurate" and stated that the case was settled out of court with money going to charity.

Murphy is a graduate of Chaminade High School and Georgetown University as well as the USC School of Cinema-Television. He is married to filmmaker Susan Montford. Often works with Rick Benattar. He is the originating producer of Transformers (2007 film).
