| Hi, you reverted my "Legacy" section. In the interest of being civil like you ask, I wanted to say I feel like you're missing the point of the word "legacy" and I wanted to explain why I think that. | |||
| Blake's legacy is tied to his impact and the opinions others have of him and his work (critics and peers). That's the whole meaning of the section. I didn't put it up there to sing his praises or be "fansite-ish"as you say, (although I'm a fan). I put it up there because others'words like "reigning traditionalist" and "one of the most prominent mouthpieces for the genre in the mainstream” speak to his work (ex. "traditionalist" has to do with his sound and the type of country music he makes which is tied to his legacy), and the mark he's left in country music through The Voice (ex. "Mouthpiece for the genre"). He ''is'' the genre's mouthpiece and face and one of the most recognizable country stars today aside from Garth. (The sentence I just wrote may be seen as "peacocky" but the truth of the matter is that people like Luke, Jason, Dierks, etc. are not nearly as recognizable outside of Nashville as Blake is. For reference, Taylor Swift was the undisputed and most famous face of country before she left for pop.) So you see? It is truly one of the things that separates his legacy from the "legacy" of the rest of his male contemporaries (i.e. Luke, Jason, etc.) who don't have the Voice as an advantage to help their impact. I didn't put those sources up there to fawn over him. I put it because it's true. | |||
