Kairali TV is a Malayalam television channel in India. It is the first public limited channel in the world to be started with money collected from the common man. It has more than 2 lakh shareholders. This channel is controlled by the political party CPI (M) (Communist Party of India - Marxist). Currently, Mammootty, a leading film actor in Malayalam, holds the post of Chairman and John Brittas is the Managing Director. Other important leaders are: Shibu Chakravarthy-Executive Producer,Programmes, Prabha Varma- Director, News and Current Affairs, N. P, Chandrasekharan- Executive Editor, Abraham Mathew- Chief Correspondent, and Somakumar- Executive Producer.
The HQ and studio of the channel is at Fort, Thiruvananthapuram(Trivandrum). It has a recording centre at Ernakulam too. They are planning to build a state-of-arts HQ in Trivandrum
