Convention is a tricky thing, especially for historical "Dmitri's," where convention has changed much like linguistic fashions. So, I propose a "Dmitri Guideline:" all historical "Dmitri's" will be transliterated as "Dmitri." Here in England people often make mistake, spelling my name as "Dimitri" or "Dimitry" (this is even more old-fashioned). So, we probably need to respect all different versions of this name. Looking at the comments above, I do not see a chorus cheering to move the article elsewhere; what I see is an array of disagreements.
