Elon Musk is an Internet and space launch entrepreneur. The first company he co-founded was Zip2 Corporation in 1995, which was later sold to Compaq's AltaVista division. He also co-founded PayPal, which was acquired by eBay in October 2002.
In June 2002 he founded his third company, SpaceX, of which he is currently the CEO and Chief Technology Officer. This company is developing space launch vehicles, with an emphasis on low cost and high reliability. The first two launch vehicles planned are the Falcon I and Falcon V rockets.
