Synthetic rope is rope made from synthetic fibers. Synthetic ropes are more resistant to rotting than ropes created from natural fibers, have a higher tensile strength, and can be made to float on water. However, synthetic rope can be damaged more easily by UV light.

Materials

Common fibers used to make synthetic rope include nylon and polyester.
