Template:WikiProject Military history user

The Middle Ages task force of the Military history WikiProject is looking for participants to help expand and improve content relating to military history during the Middle Ages.
I, HAJARS, hereby award you this barnstar which you deserve for your excellent work (so far) on the Joan of Arc article, improving the text while facing fierce opposition from two particular editors.

About Durova

My Misplaced Pages name is borrowed from Nadezhda Durova, the first female officer of the Russian army. I'm very pleased to say that the new article about her got featured in "Did you know" on Misplaced Pages's main page. Many thanks to User:Ghirlandajo and User:Alex Bakharev.

Did you know?

  • ...that the film I'm No Angel (1933) starred Mae West as a circus lion tamer? and that West did her own stunts including riding an elephant into the ring and putting her face between the lion's jaws?
  • ...that a historic Water Village built on stilts above a river is home to ten percent of the population of the country of Brunei?
  • ... that the spangenhelm was the most popular war helmet in Europe and the Middle East during the early Middle Ages?

Other points of pride

I hereby present you with the Military history WikiProject Distinguished Service Award for your significant contributions to Misplaced Pages's coverage of medieval warfare. —Kirill Lokshin 03:48, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Articles created

I don't keep track of all the articles I've edited. When I create a new article I do my best to make it encyclopedic: I usually include several paragraphs of information, an image, and at least one external link.
