Sharon (שרון, Standard Hebrew Šaron, Tiberian Hebrew Šārôn) is the name of several places in the world: From an Old Testament place name meaning "plain" in Hebrew, referring to a fertile plain near the coast of Israel. This is also the name of a type of flowering shrub, the rose of Sharon.

It is also the surname of Ariel Sharon, Israeli prime minister.
