Kyrie Irving editor
The user at Kyrie Irving ignored your note and there are now grounds for WP:3RR. They are ignoring advice to head to the talk page and are now being disruptive. I can't find a suitable talk page warning – what's your take? DaHuzyBru (talk) 15:58, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- It appears you have warned this long-time user in the past , so they are clearly aware of edit warring and 3RR and are choosing to ignore. DaHuzyBru (talk) 16:02, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- There is {{uw-ew}}. Do you use WP:TWINKLE? It makes them easier to find. WP:AN3 would be next if they continue.—Bagumba (talk) 19:45, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
Andrew Goudelock
I saw an interview where he said he always has gone by Drew and not Andrew and that's what people always call him. So isn't that the correct name?Bluesangrel (talk)
- @Bluesangrel: Misplaced Pages follows WP:COMMONNAME, using the most common name that sources refer to a person as. If you think it is now “Drew”, consider opening an WP:RM first before changing links. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 19:11, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- Well, according to his official Facebook and Twitter it's Drew, but I didn't really think it was necessary to move the article. So you can't list him as Drew ever in any edit without the article being moved?Bluesangrel (talk) 19:14, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Bluesangrel: Generally, it’s better to be consistent and use the most common name, which is presumably the page’s title. If the pages’s name is not the most common, RM is the least controversial way to establish consensus.—Bagumba (talk) 19:21, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

Dwight Howard
Hello, I just want to let you know that Dwight Howard was just traded on June 20, 2018 to the Brooklyn Nets. He was traded in exchange for Timofey Mozgov, the 45th pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, and a 2021 second round pick. This is some new information that can be added, so there really isn't anything to change. You could also change the heading "Charlotte Hornets (2017-present)" to (2017-2018). You could also create a new heading with the previous info, Brooklyn Nets (2018-present).
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chloe2330 (talk • contribs) 04:08, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Chloe2330: We typically dont rely solely on breaking news, and at a minimum want it attributed to named—not anonymous—sources. You can refer to WP:SPORTSTRANS. If you have an updated source tied to a named person e.g. a team official, feel free to post to the article’s talk page. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 04:53, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
Andruw Jones
Can you please look into re-protecting the page?--Yankees10 17:55, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
NBA draft article
If you are around, you may want to watch it. Pretty sure IP vandalism on draft night has been an issue for the last number of years. Rikster2 (talk) 22:06, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
NBA Draft template list
Could you edit Template:NBA Draft template list to add the 2018 draft? ~EDDY ~ 23:51, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Done.—Bagumba (talk) 01:00, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
Protection for Collin Sexton
This page has a ton of IP / new user vandalism right now. Thanks, Natg 19 (talk) 01:05, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
Protect Brad Wanamaker?
Premature signing that has leaked. It is doubtful that this will be announced before the 7/1 start of free agency. Thanks Rikster2 (talk) 16:22, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
- Done. There’s also the July moratorium too.—Bagumba (talk) 17:28, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Protect Austin Rivers and Gortat?
Trade rumored, not announced Rikster2 (talk) 00:01, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- It's been confirmed - http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23918159/la-clippers-send-austin-rivers-washington-wizards-center-marcin-gortat ~EDDY ~ 03:55, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
BIG3 colors in basketball biography infobox
Given that consensus is not to add BIG3 teams to the infobox, could you remove them from Module:Basketball color/data? This might discourage folks from adding these teams as the primary affiliation. I also have questions about if we need defunct NBA, G League, WNBA, etc. teams in there as well since for retired players Consensus is to keep the default gray box. I’d do it, but the template is protected. Thanks Rikster2 (talk) 21:34, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- I think I got it Rikster2 (talk) 21:40, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
Rising stars challenge
I don’t want to create Misplaced Pages articles all I want to add to nba players who participate it on event can’t believe you took it off everybody would agree with me except you. Sameem123 (talk) 12:18, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Sameem123: Thanks for discussing this. There was at least one other editor who also reverted your additions. Feel free to get consensus at WT:NBA. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 13:15, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
Why did you remove the NBA records tab from Kareem?
I followed the same format as the one used on the Wilt Chamberlain page where NBA records were denoted near the bottom of the page.
Either remove them under Wilt's page or restore it under Kareem's. it makes no sense— Preceding unsigned comment added by Drdrepepper (talk • contribs)
- @Drdrepepper: As I had written in the edit summaryof the revert, it is based on WP:NBAHIGHLIGHTS, which says
Some items for which there has been consensus to exclude from the infobox include: ... NBA career statistical leaders
. Regarding Chamberlain, "other stuff exists" is not always a valid argument. I will remove them from both as you suggested.—Bagumba (talk) 17:18, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
Protect Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova?
Free agent signings. Thx Rikster2 (talk) 12:27, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- Maybe Nick Stauskas too? Rikster2 (talk) 12:40, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- Both protected.—Bagumba (talk) 01:21, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

This is quintessential involved (not to mention rather silly, all in all). The minimum you should do is reduce protection to semi and let editors update the article. NE Ent 22:31, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- @NE Ent: Thanks for discussing this. There was article churn when there was semi, which prompted full protection. You are welcome to make an edit request on the talk page with {{Edit fully-protected}}. There are already others who have, and another admin besides myself will process them.—Bagumba (talk) 22:44, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- Have you reviewed WP:INVOLVED lately? NE Ent 23:45, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- @NE Ent: I do not believe I was pushing a personal bias in protecting the page, which was flipping back and forth, was largely unsourced, or was inaccurately equating an “agreement” as an actual signing. At Talk:LeBron_James#Lakers, there is a neutral idea to write that an “agreement” was reached without implying that he was signed yet. However, I honestly don’t see a consensu yet, especially with so many other people insisting this is a done deal and others saying no updates should be done at all. My suggestion would be for you to help form a consensus at the talkpage, and then ask another uninvolved admin to make the desired edit. If you believe the protection is undue, you can make a request to reduce it at WP:RFRPL. Barring all that, an official announcment will likely be made by the Lakers as early as Friday. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 01:39, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
