Jennifer Paige is an american pop singer-songwriter. She was born September 3, 1973 in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up surrounded by music with gospel being her first real influence. By age eight she was already singing duets with her older brother Chance Scoggins, performing at local coffeehouses and restaurants. At the age of 10 she began playing piano and her musical tastes kept expanding to include rock and pop aswell. She studied dance, performing arts and voice at a performing arts school called Pebblebrook.

After highschool Paige toured the country with a Top 40 cover band. After moving to Los Angeles in 1990 she hooked up with another Top 40 cover band, Joe's Band. In august of 1996 Joe's Band played before a crowd of 50.000 people in Atlanta at the Olympic Games. The same year she teamed up with producer Andy Goldmark and recorded a dance version of Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools". That very song caught the attention of a German Indie Label Edel Records, which was looking for a fresh-faced pop act to establish their existence in America. In the fall of 1997 Edel Records president Jonathan First flew to Los Angeles to sign her.

After signing to Edel, Jennifer Paige kept recording new tunes. In 1998 Jennifer Paige recorded a song called "Crush". It was a song that would change her life over night. Producer Andy Goldmark took a copy of "Crush" to a legendary Top 40 station KIIS FM in Los Angeles. It quickly became KIIS FM's #1 most requested song and in August of 1998 it was certified Gold for sales of 500.000 copies. The song remained 17 weeks in the American Billboard Single Chart reaching #3. It also cracked Top 10 in several European and Asian countries. Her self-titled debut album was released in the late 1998.

In the early 1999 Hollywood Records released "Sober" as a second single in America, while Edel released "Always You" in Europe. Although "Always You" cracked the Top 10 of Billboard's Dance Chart, the follow-up's didn't quite continue the success of the infectious debut single.

In 2000 Jennifer Paige recorded a song called "Beautiful" for a Richard Gere/Winona Ryder movie "Autumn in New York". The song appeared on the official soundtrack.

After a long hiatus, 2001 finally saw her comeback as a recording artist. Her second album Positively Somewhere was released September 18th, 2001. The first single off of the follow-up to her 1998-debut was called "These Days", a cover from an australian girl-group Bardot. Due to the lack of promotion, the sales of the single were very bad. In 2002 Positively Somewhere was released in Europe and Asia. It went to Top 10 in Japan and the first single to be released in Europe, "Stranded" became a minor hit in couple of European and Asian countries, including Japan, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland and Scandinavia.

2002 also saw Jennifer Paige's film-debut. She had a small role as a singing waitress in Disney's The Country Bears.

When Edel released Flowers - The Jennifer Paige Hits Collection in the spring of 2003 it was obvious that she was no longer with her old record companies and in October Jennifer Paige announced that she had gone separate ways with her labels and was in a search of a new home for her music.

In 2004 Jennifer Paige had begun writing and recording new songs for her third album and is now re-located in Nashville, Tennessee.
