==History==
The constituency was created under the ], and was named after ]. There was another ] in ], which was often known as "St George's in the East" to distinguish the two (this was, coincidentally, the formal name of the parish after which it had been named).

The constituency was abolished in 1918, with the majority of the electorate going to ].

The constituency was defined in the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885 as "The Parish of St George, Hanover Square".
