Michael Beckerman is the president and CEO of the Internet Association, a Washington D.C.-based trade association representing global Internet companies. Prior to his appointment, Beckerman served 12 years as a congressional staff member, serving as the deputy staff director and chief policy advisor to the chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
During his tenure at the head of the Internet Association, Beckerman has worked on issues such as copyright, net neutrality, intermediary liability, and privacy.
Beckerman has been recognized as a “Tech Titan” by Washingtonian in 2013 and 2017, as well as included in Recode's Tech 100.
