The Macaque, contrary to popular belief based on documentaries and assumptions, spends much of its time resting, save for the unusual occasion of commotion associated with feeding/traveling, it spends a lot of time sitting, sleeping or grooming one another. This is, however, not to say that they sleep all day and don't have the capabilities to be swift and agile. During the daya, they wander in a 3km range of their home for foraging, finding shelter against rain or shade when sunny. They can jump from tree-to-tree and scale slopes covered with rough terrain in no time. | |||
