Alexandra Waterbury (born c. 1997–1998) is an American ballet dancer and fashion model. In September 2018, she filed a lawsuit against New York City Ballet and Chase Finlay, her former boyfriend and a former principal dancer with the company. Her lawsuit alleges that Finlay, along with dancers Amar Ramasar and Zachary Catazaro and patron Jared Longhitano, shared sexually explicit images and videos of female dancers, without their knowledge or consent.

Early life

Waterbury is from Old Forge, New York. She trained at the School of American Ballet in New York City.

Lawsuit against NYCB

In September 2018, Waterbury filed a lawsuit against her former boyfriend, Chase Finlay, and New York City Ballet on the grounds of sexual degradation. Her lawsuit alleges that New York City Ballet condoned, encouraged, fostered, and permitted an unsafe environment where donors, dancers, agents, employees, and others affiliated with the company abused women and violated their basic rights. Waterbury's lawsuit against Finlay and New York City Ballet led to Finlay's resignation from the company and the firing of Amar Ramasar and Zachary Catazaro. She later added Jared Longhitano, a patron of New York City Ballet, as a defendant in her lawsuit.

On June 7th of 2019, defendants NYCB, SAB, Catazaro and Ramasar filed motions to dismiss the lawsuit against Waterbury.

Amongst documents submitted, several rebutted Waterbury's allegations previously made. Several message threads between Waterbury and Finlay were exhibited in these filings.

Modeling

Waterbury is signed with Wilhelmina Models, City Models, and Munich Models. In July 2016, Waterbury was the cover-girl L'Officiel Thailand. In October 2017, Waterbury was photographed by Isaac Anthony for an editorial in Design Scene. In March 2018, she was featured in a fashion editorial for L'Officiel's American publication. In October 2018, Waterbury modeled for Lululemon Athletica's Royal Ballet Collection.

Waterbury was dropped by modeling agency Wilhelmina in May of 2019.

Personal life

Waterbury was in a relationship with Chase Finlay until 2018. The two had met in 2016, the year that Waterbury graduated from the School of American Ballet. Waterbury is currently a student at Columbia University's School of General Studies and a member of the Columbia Ballet Collaborative.
