slakr's life is currently frolicking with chaos, so his activity and response times to queries will be highly variable.
Leave a message and he will respond whenever he gets a chance— that is, assuming he gets a chance. Cheers =)

Ideally, please use this link to post new messages at the bottom. If you can't find something you recently posted, I might have moved it down there or it could have been archived if you posted it over 7 days ago. Cheers :)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Comment

Regarding slakr:

Why did my page get deleted? Please see Misplaced Pages:Why was my page deleted? first. I have no idea what you're talking about. What's vandalism? If you received a warning from me and you're not logged in, you might have gotten an old warning I sent to someone who shares your IP address. On the other hand, if you've made recent edits and received a recent warning message from me and you genuinely believe that it's not vandalism, don't fret-- simply drop me a message below, because I could have simply made a silly mistake. :)

Regarding SineBot:

Why does SineBot keep signing stuff I've already signed? All comments should have a signature that includes both a link to your user page (slakr) and a datestamp (05:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)) (per signatures - internal links). This is most easily generated by placing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your contributions, which makes something like "slakr 05:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)".

If you have an interwiki-linked user page, consider either creating a user page on enwiki that redirects to your preferred home wiki or simply opting out of automatic signing.

If you're still having problems after trying that, post a message below. Be sure to include diffs to make sure I can reference the problem. I don't want my comments signed by SineBot. How do I get it to ignore me or my talk page? Please use one of the opt-out methods listed on its user page. SineBot forgot to sign something it should have signed. Usually this happens because the bot isn't sure if it really should sign something, so it defaults to not signing it (e.g., in cases of complex edits). It does this to avoid being annoying. Other times, a comment might be made when the bot is down for maintenance, so the bot simply never sees it. SineBot signed something that it genuinely should not have signed. Please let me know-- especially if you think it's not a one-time thing. Be sure to include diffs to make sure I can reference the problem. Is SineBot's source code available? Not currently. I'm signing with four tildes (~~~~) but it's still saying I didn't! You likely enabled raw signatures. Open your preferences, click the "User profile" tab, make sure that "Treat the above as wiki markup" is NOT checked, and click Save; it should be fixed. If you have an interwiki-linked user page, consider either creating a user page on enwiki that redirects to your preferred home wiki or simply opting out of automatic signing.

Bot in other wikipedias

A bot like yours would be very useful on other wikipedias as well. Can you work at the portuguese[REDACTED] as well? Or can I get another bot like this in the factory it is produced? And by the way, why not make the source code public? This is a project (wikipedia) where everything is free for use! Bageense (talk) 10:59, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

I came here to ask about the same thing. I'm the member of Albanian Wikiquote but both, Wikiquote and Misplaced Pages, could benefit from that bot. In fact, at our internet age, auto-signing should be a function enabled by MediaWiki, without needing a bot to look after for it but since that's not the case, is there any way we could have SineBot at other Wiki-s too? - Klein Muçi (talk) 11:03, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
I also asked him to add the bot to the ckb wiki. He is sadly inactive these days, and alas the source code for the bot is not available either.--▸ ‎épine talk 18:43, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Indonesian Bot/Administrator

Hello, I was just wondering if there is any bot or specific admin which watches over[REDACTED] related to Indonesian's articles? Because some of them are outdated & I'm afraid if I do any editing there wont be any correction or observer towards that page. Cheers & thanks mate. Basduhncxmaoiwuoeiyoqisn (talk) 07:58, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

You can join WikiProject Indonesia.--Auric talk 13:12, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

SineBot down

Hi Slakr. Any ideas why SineBot hasn't been working for the past few weeks, and when it might be up again? The Teahouse is always in need of SineBot's services! Cordless Larry (talk) 16:54, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

I miss SineBot. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:18, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
@Cordless Larry and ToBeFree: Looks like the operator is on Wikibreak. Any idea where should we raise this issue? Masum Reza 09:34, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
@Cordless Larry and ToBeFree: It should be back. --slakr 23:18, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
Yay, thank you very much! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 01:53, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks dude. Masum Reza 07:51, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
Excellent. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 09:58, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Attack Ramon

I left a note on the talk page of the user but he has removed it so I am leaving it here instead. What I wrote in response to your suggestion that he agree to a one year topic ban is as follows:

I really think that is a bad idea. The sockmaster here had two separate accounts (NoCal100 and Canadian Monkey) indefinitely banned from the Arab-Israeli topic area in the Judea/Samaria vs West Bank arbitration case and has been socking around those bans since, yes that is over ten years and upwards of 40 accounts doing nothing but evading that ban. Im not even sure that an admin can downgrade that indefinite topic ban to a single year anyway. Beyond that, the user has repeatedly used his socks to harass other users, see for example Bad Dryer's actions with Malik Shabazz and Nishidani (I can pull the ANI archive links if youd like), and that sock, Bad Dryer, is currently community banned per this AN unblocking discussion which found a well established consensus for his indefinite blocking. And that was even before he was determined to be a ban-evading sockpuppet.

Thanks, nableezy - 23:57, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages's technical logs indicate that this IP address or network has been used to disrupt Misplaced Pages. It has been blocked from editing to prevent further abuse.
If you are not the intended target of this block, please read the information below in order to receive assistance.
Misplaced Pages tries to be open, but we sometimes must block IP addresses to prevent editing by abusers, vandals, or block evaders. These blocks can affect users who have done nothing wrong. If you are a legitimate user, follow the instructions below to edit despite the block. Users who are the intended target of a range block may still appeal the block.

IP users (without an account): If you do not have an account and wish to bypass this block, an account can be created to allow you to edit. In general, these blocks only prevent users who are not logged in from editing; once you are logged in, the block will no longer affect you in any way. To request an account, simply click here and follow the directions provided on the page. It is important that you use an e-mail address issued to you by your ISP, school, or organisation, so we may verify that you are a legitimate user. When filling out the account request form, please refer to this block in the "comments" input field. If you've been instructed to request an account via email, please refer to this block in your message.

Registered users (with an account): Please make sure you are logged in to your account. If you are unable to edit while logged in, you may request IP block exemption to bypass blocks unconnected with you that affect your editing. Post an unblock request to your user talk page.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
